Flawed foundation = flawed team.   Not much you can do when one of your anchor is a malcontent quitter.   I could see them trading LeBron for Chris Paul at some point.   Still won't fix their interior woes but would help their offensive flow.

The first thing Miami has to do is get Wade and LeBron to accept that both need to adjust their games.  It's not just that they're going to get fewer shots, they have to learn to function within an offense that isn't entirely built around them.

...   would Orlando *consider* trading Dwight Howard for LeBron?

I mean, obviously, that's a huge, HUGE trade.  One legit franchise player for another.  Two of the four or five best players in the game.

Orlando would still have Gortat to play the 5.  Obviously that's a downgrade, but Gortat's still a starting-caliber center.

Think of the shooters that Orlando has, all the guys on that team who can't create a shot but who can hit 3's all game long.  That's a team that could USE LeBron dominating the ball.

For Miami - that alleviates the concerns about them not having enough size!  Dwight in the middle lets Bosh play more on the perimeter, lets him be a true PF.  Wade's still there and still one of the best in the league.  That's a much, much more balanced roster.

Wouldn't that trade make two REAL powerhouses?

Dwight, Pietrus, and Ryan Andersen for LeBron and Big Z is one of the few trades I think is legit for LeBron.

Arroyo
Wade
Pietrus
Bosh
Howard

and a solid bench rotation of Ryan Andersen, Mike Miller, James Jones, Eddie House, and Erik Dampier...you got a stew cookin.

Orlando would have

Nelson
Carter (who they would then trade)
James
Lewis
Gortat

with a bench of Redick, Bass, Duhon, Q-Rich, and Big Z

Pretty solid all-around.

Dwight Howard would hurt Chris Bosh's game considerably. Very difficult for Bosh to be effective offensively with Dwight Howard clogging the paint all game long.

The difference in overall contribution between someone like Udonis Haslem and a Chris Bosh when playing alongside Dwight Howard (+ Wade) is fairly small. Especially considering the difference in pay.

Miami would have to move Chris Bosh in that scenario to get any value for the money they'd be paying him.

What I would do to save the Heat? Absolutely nothing.
You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now GREEN, you are light GREEN, or dark GREEN!

Why would anyone want to save the Heat?
