I went to about 10 home games for Oklahoma last year.  The kid is maddening.  He shows glimpses of Al Jefferson hands and footwork, but the other 98% of the time he looks downright horrible.  That being said, OU doesn't exactly have the big man coaches that we do.  It would have been nice to see what CRay could have done with him.

Must have sucked to go from Griffin who was a ridiculous to Gallon who is a totally different player.

It was miserable.  Seeing the all out effort that the Griffin brothers gave and then going to see the talents of Tiny Gallon and Willie Warren and Tommie Mason Griffin being wasted was so painful.

Well imagine my dismay going from watching Lawson, Ellington, Green Hansbrough and winning a National Championship to losing in the NIT and watching Dook hoist the championship trophy...

The kid is Al Jeffersons cousin. He is a project, but he has a skillset that is very very rare. I dont know if he will ever make it in the nba but he has skills that would make him very hard to adjust to. He can shoot, dribble, pass, rebound very well. You just cant teach some of the things this kid can do. I the work ethic improves and he is smart enough to put his tallents to good use and work on his weaknesses he has a chance to be a very very good player in this league. It will take time though. 3 more years of a good college program and he could have been the 1st pick. I agree with earlier poster to much came to easily for him, now he needs to do the hard dirty work to make the transition into the nba.
This kid is worth the wait I believe.  I said the same things about  Al jefferson and got laughed at on this board that is what inspired my signature!
blind optimist or GENIUS

I know the C's cut him along with West and Lasme, but does anyone know what ended up happening with him?  Has another team brought him in for a look or have we taken advantage of that new rule and offered him a NBADL contract?

Count me in as someone who was intrigued by his talents.

Good hands, some skill with the ball, occasional glimpses of real NBA talent but serious weight issues and questions regarding his work ethic...

Can anyone say "Mike Sweetney, Redux?"

Perk came onto the team with baby fat and a hellaciously strong work ethic.  You could see that early on.  Count me skeptical when a kid's weakness is listed as "motor"; name me the last lackadaisical player who suddenly learned the meaning of hard work and intensity.
Very true.  "Motor" is more of a personality and body trait than a skill that can be learned.
