This is what I would want in order to keep guys fresh.

PF- KG 28, Baby 20

SF- Pierce 32, Daniels 16

C- JO 22, Shaq 20, Erden 6

PG- Rondo 34 Robinson 14

SG- Allen 30, West 18

I would also love for Doc to take the Popovich approach with KG and some of the other veterans. I would like to see KG, PP, RA, JO, and Shaq get the occasional night off. Especially on back to backs. Could definitely see this becoming a strong possibility for the vet bigs once Perk returns. He'll need PT to get back into shape and to shake off the rust and we would still have the depth at the 4/5 to rest KG, Shaq, or JO on any given night.

I see two things with minutes on the current roster. Daniels and Nate will get the lions share of the backup minutes at covering the 1-2-3 spots until Delonte is back from his suspension. When Delonte gets back, he will see 30 mpg for a few games to get him solid with the starters. He will be the 7th man after Baby only because we have more 'fragile' bodies at the bigs.

Erden and Baby see a lot more minutes than some would expect in the early going as well. I think Shaq and JO will see a lot of minutes in the Miami game as a statement of sorts, then they will have minutes cut back (to about 20ea  max) and the Erden/Baby tandem will play more due to the high potential for injury of the ONeals.

I think this will be done also to test how well Erden/Baby function as bigs with Pierce/Ray/Rondo as a unit. If they do even marginally well, this is great news for the rest of the season because we have the insurance we need until Perk gets back. If they are horrible (especially Erden), Danny will be making a deal (for depth) by Christmas depending on how quickly Perk is ready.

I am not saying Erden is or isnt that good, but we have seen in the preseason how quickly a minor injury and foul trouble can get him on the court for an extended period. If we see KG and Baby playing together for 40 mpg+ in any game, that spells nothing but trouble IMO.

I couldn't agree more, billysan, about Nate and Daniels covering those 10 games for Delonte and about Baby and Erden getting plenty of minutes.

That looks pretty good.

I think gody should be the 12th.  Daniels backing up Pierce by himself scares me.
