It seems that we have a bunch of people under contract and are still working out other players...what gives...also we seem to have a glut of bodies to play the 1/2 any ideas how it shakes out?
? How does Bradley fit in with the addition of West and Waffer??
Best Guess of rotation
C: J.Oneal S.Oneal Erden Perk (out w/injury)
PF: KG Baby
SF: Pierce Daniels Harangody(pf)
SG: Allen West Wafer
PG: Rondo Robinson Bradley
I think that's right, basically.
Things I'd consider:
1. If Delonte outplays Nate (or more realistically, if Nate doesn't commit himself on the defensive end), Delonte could back up Rondo and Nate could find himself getting some DNP-CDs. That might open up a little playing time for Wafer (or Bradley), or we might see Delonte on the floor for 25-30 minutes a game. Delonte's the best overall PLAYER of the backup guys we have at the 1/2 spots, so that may not be a bad thing.
2. Bradley, if his D is as good as they claim, I think he's got an opportunity to earn some spot minutes - five or six minutesa game, not just garbage time, maybe in the second and third quarters. Remember a few times when Billy Walker got in the game early on, he just never really did much with it to prove he deserved more PT. Bradley will have to pick up the D and not do anything stupid on offense. It's not like it's unheard of for a rookie to help out a championship-caliber squad; I can't imagine him getting the same minutes, but I'm thinking of a guy like Courtney Lee, who was a real pest in our side as a rookie in Orlando.
3. Thinking that Wafer's roster spot is a LOT less secure with Delonte on board, and thinking that they're mighty glad they only guaranteed him $150k. They're clearly still LOOKING at small forward options, which is good. If Wafer's likely going to be on the outside of the rotation, it may be better to give his roster spot to someone like McCants (or even Morrison).
4. Danny's been willing in the past to kick the tires on high draft pick busts. Wouldn't be surprised in the least to see Morrison get a camp-invite. Danny's looking for home runs.
