Brady has won 3 Super Bowls and is a team guy and leader who doesn't go for every cent during contract negotiations and cry like a little girl if he doesn't get it. He also doesn't take plays off and can't simply be double teamed. Good apples vs bad oranges.

They were changing the offense to deemphasize Randy. Plain and simple. This is why they didn't target him and why they are going more to the young TEs and even the RBs.

Randy knew he wasn't going to put up phenomenal numbers this year and then was going to hit free agency where he wasn't going to get the offer he wanted. Not from the Pats. Not from anyone.

Anyone who thinks he was going to give it his all and just play out his contract and keep it in house and be a rah rah guy during all that hasn't paid any attention to the kind of guy Randy is or pro sports in general.

Plus defenses have figured him out. All you have to do is double him or put Revis on him.

It seems like everyone has forgotten that a few years ago people weren't sure trading a 4th for Randy was a good idea. People said "The culture of the Pats is indestructible. This is Randy's last shot. If he can't make it here he can't make it anywhere. If he causes a problem they won't hesitate to cut him and move on".

Instead he caused a problem and after some great seasons they traded him for more than they got him for. This is awesome.
