Yo what up, Im new to this Forum and im a big Celtic fan, I also own a Rajon Rondo jersey.

My question:

With Kevin Garnett set to make $18mill + $21mill (I know its a disgrace) in the next few years he will be 36, My question is who do we replace him with down the line?

Al Jefferson is a beast but the lacks on the Defensive end, Big Baby... hmm well yeah I dont think he will take over from KG, and thats all i can think off at this time. Obviously we could go out and get a PF in a few years but who? Jermaine O'Neal could hold the fort down if he remains healthy and its a big if, but im not sure

Type down below who you would like to see replace KG in the next few years

Thanks!
I would take Blake Griffin.

JO is already in decline and is already a questionable starter.

JO isn’t a PF, and I wouldn’t question his ability to start YET.

I’d like Josh Smith.
Though I was only responding to a previous post, I see no problem playing JO at PF. Labels can be pointless sometimes, like calling Duncan a PF.

At this point in JO’s career i don’t think we’ll be seeing him starting at the 4.

and i was responding to your response, about JO being a questionable starter.

  • You say when......
Well, lets wait ~14 years and replace him with his son, ya, lets think that far ahead, and in 10 years, well, tell Rondo to get going and have a son, and PP and Ray.....Get those scouts to those dern Elementary schools..find us some talent...! Up and coming type..!   Just kidding.

Haha (TP).

Tp right back..!

I don't mean any disrespect to the original poster, but getting kg was a miracle, and lucky.... Like GF said, there isn't any replacement..look at Chicago, how would they like to replace MJ..... The Celtics, and a lot of posters "seem" to think that you can always go and sign the next superstar free agent because youy want him. Hey We are CELTIC right....No, doesn't happen. That is why half of us here look for more chances of player development, it seems it doesn't happen much inb the NBA, you either show up with game, or you don't get in at all. How many guys actually get a shot coming up from the D league..? Not a high percentage. But some stats guy might prove otherwise.

Just goes to show you - KG can not be replaced - just like Bird, Magic, Michael, etc....he's one of a kind.

There are some close substitutes that have been mentioned throughout the thread, but none have all of his intangibles, at least not yet.

Why is it a disgrace? He was given that contract when he came over here, proved his worth by winning a championship while being the best defensive player in basketball. He already earned that money IMO, and besides, I was much more comfortable trading away half our team for 5 years of KG vs only 2.

Let's worry about these next two seasons before we worry about the future beyond that.
