You really want to bulk at 6'1" and 220? I would cut down totally first (cutting cycle) to about 4% body fat, and start bulking correctly from there on.

Why would one do that with the winter approaching? Do you live in MA?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Yeah, how heavy do you see yourself getting?

I want to be about 6'4, 240, and that's about it. 6'1 220 seems kinda large, yah?

I was skinny for forever, and was able to bulk up 15-20 pounds finally.  The difference?  Russian Bear.  It's sold at Vitamin Shoppe and is ridiculous, as well as being no-fat and healthy.  Sounds crazy, I know, but it's ridiculous.  Since then I've toned down about 5 pounds, with an approximate net gain of 8-10 lbs of muscle.

P2, what do you mean by bulking correctly? Incrementally increasing calorie intake? Because that has always part of the plan. I wouldn't recommend someone who is only eating 2000 calories a day to hop onto this bulk plan.

Also, why do you feel one should cut at this point in the season?
