I would have to say a big NO.

MVP and Superbowls don't make a Hall of Fame CAREER.

Hall of fame is for CAREER achievements, not one or 3 very good or superior seasons.

I know Warner has had a short career, but that has to play a role in determining where he stands among the other great football players within history.

Judging by the numbers, Warner has had 3 years of superior football, including this past season. So prior to the 2008-2009 NFL season, Warner has only had 2 HoF worthy seasons.

That's not enough.

Sure he has MVPs, and Superbowl appearances....but that's not enough to justify a HoF career.

I would sooner vote Drew Bledsoe in as a 1st Ballot HoFer.

I've gotta TP that just for noticing that your post count is "leet" (meaning 1337).  Big ups to whoever programmed that in there.

Thought I'd bump this after the events of the past months or so.

Warner's Super Bowl record is now 1-2 but he has put up some pretty remarkable numbers in the sport's biggest stage.

SB 34- 24-45 414 yds 2 TD 0 INT

SB 36- 28-44 365 yds 1 TD 2 INT

SB 43- 31-43 377 yds 3 TD 1 INT

If nothing else he's participated in 3 amazingly entertaining Super Bowls.  I was really surprised to see Arizona get up off the mat after the way the 1st half ended.

I'd say he's in.

If he won two of them, yeah, he would be in.

But he lost two of them

Fran Tarkenton & Jim Kelly were o for 4 and got in.

But both put up more good years.  Warner had 2-3 good years at the beginning and 1 this season.  He had way to many forgetful or terrible seasons in the middle.

He doesnt belong in the HOF.

The stats are compelling, but the simple fact is that he wasnt good enough for a long enough time.  I wouldnt be surprised to see him get in because of the stats, but I simply dont think he belongs.

As you note, Hall of Fame voters don't always go by the length of dominance.  Case in point, Joe Namath, who all had a handful of good years.

Yea.  my answer straddled the line.  is he a HOFer?  in my eyes, no.  But I think in the eyes of the voters he will be.

I'm just glad his wife (since we cut to her constantly during their games) rocks the long hair now.  She ain't too shabby.

If hot wives were a factor in determining HoF status, the Hall would be overrun with undeserving players.

I'd be undeserving, but in my eyes I'd be a shoo in if this was the criteria.
Call me a sap, but I love my kids more than anything!
