  • You know my methods, Watson.
when your center is out with an injury and you decide the next legitimate center on your rosters isn't even worth inserting into the game...

i think that tells us everything we need to know.

A lot of people talk about POB, as if they have ever seen him play with this team....Well you haven't....only garbage minutes, which do not reaaly count. Just a lot of gunners ect.....POB can do a lot more than BBD, Scal, and eventually even Leon. Those guys cannot post up and dunk, I love Leon, but he isn't 7'. If this team ever plays POB in prime time, with some real players, and let him ride out his early mistakes and jitters, he will become a mojor player here. Perk was a foul a minute when he started, and he still loses his defensive assignments. Scal is allergic to paint, he never goes near it. Play POB prime time for a few games, like 6 or so, then talk stuff. Until then, you have nothing to say negatively about him. It is just your prediction and nothing else. Don't try to quote what you think he did in college, that means very little.

You say everyone is just using predictions when alleging that POB is bad, but in the same paragraph you say "POB can do a lot more than BBD, Scal, and eventually even Leon."

That's not a prediction?

I think it's safe to say the coaching staff knows a lot more about POB's ability than any of us.  I'll admit, there have been plenty of times this year that Baby, Scal and to a lesser extent Leon have driven me crazy.  And I personally think that if POB is gonna get any kind of real run this year, now would be the best time.  But I'm not qualified to make that decision, and I have very little to base that preference on.

I think a lot of times we get caught up in the unknown with players.  We know what Baby can give us.  We know what Scal and Leon can give us.  But we don't know much of what POB can give us, and that's intriguing.  For all we know, he could look horrible when given meaningful minutes.  But we hold out hope that he could turn into something, because we're in need of a good 7-footer.

But we see him for a few minutes every other game.  The coaches see him every day in practice.  There's gotta be SOME reason he's not getting any run right now, especially with Baby not playing very well.

just replying to a post earlier on in the thread, dont have the ability to quote on my cell phone

im soooo tired of people bringing up players like bonzi wells regarding criticism of ainges offseason.  are you an informed source?  do you specifically know that ainge made no contact with bonzi wells or matt barnes?  i have a hard time imagining ainge completely ignoring players like these in the offseason, and even more so i have a hard time seeing these players accepting the contracts we could afford to offer.  do you really think bonzi would have come here for the money we gave POB?

sorry for the hostility by these posts are just a quick scapegoat to pass blame, i was by no means a fan of the moves ainge made but the only move we can really pick at is the decision with posey, bc thats the only move we ever really recieved any kind of news on.

My whole comment was about TA, not Giddens. That was a whole tangent that he decided to go off on. I said I thought TA was more athletic than Giddens. Not sure why that is such a big stretch...

I don't know where exactly I "Went Off", but uhm okay.

I was just trying to fill you in because you seemed misinformed.

Giddens is some where between 6'4 and 6'5, and if you stop the clip at 21/22 seconds of the clip, I'd say he's just below eye level with the rim.

I don't know what more you  expect.

Definition of a tangent: diverging from an original purpose or course.

Since my post was about TA being ONE OF the more athletic guys on our squad and I listed the guy in a list of 6-7 other guys on our team I thought were less athletic than TA, I would say it was accurate to say you "went off on a tangent" from what the topic of my post was.

Can you provide me with a Dr.'s note that says that Giddens is more athletic than TA since you are certain that I am so obviously "misinformed"?

Not sure why you are pursuing this line of discussion quite honestly. Are you Giddens father or something and upset that I feel TA is a little more athletic than your son? Talk about picking out an irrelevant point of my post and pouncing on it just to try and make yourself look smarter than someone...

Lol, If I'm Giddens father you Glen Davis. Your pretty sensitive if your on the defensive about me quoting a small tidbit of your post. I wasn't pursuing anything, I was merely pointing out that Giddens isn't one of those middle of the pack athletes you were lumping him in with. You were the one who just tried to downplay Giddens' athleticism on what I think was a pretty impressive display. I guess It was arrogant of me to think there was something you might not have known. In the future I'll try not to quote you as to avoid you getting all worked up, and overreacting to a post.

And I am Glen Davis based on?!

If you want to point out to something to someone they might not have known, you may avoid talking down to them as if you are the almighty all knowing basketball genius and they are in need of your wisdom. In reviewing the NBA scouting reports I see multiple reports of the guy being extremely athletic. I was basing my comment on what I saw in preseason which was nothing, and that video of that dunk was a long ways from being impressive.

A simple "There are actually quite a few scouts that state that Giddens is extremely athletic" with a link to one wouldn't have sounded like you thought you were smarter than everyone...

I agree based on what I am seeing of these scouting reports from guys who actually do this for a living that the guy must be pretty athletic. Whether he is more athletic than TA I still don't know. What I have seen hasn't impressed me yet.

I'm implying that your like Glen Davis in that your being too sensitive. Your being sensitive and taking exception to something that should be a non-issue. No one was talking down to you. You are imagining a tone in my post that simply isn't there.

I said 3 things. Giddens is a freak athlete, He might(keyword) be a better one then Tony, and that Tony at this point is closer to Powe in Athleticism. I fail to see how something like that can be considered condescending. If anything your follow up to my post was condescending.

...And Why exactly would I think saying Giddens is probably better athlete then Tony make me look smarter?

First of all, TP for the Glen Davis comment. That is very funny!

What came across as condescending was the comment about you needing to straighten me out because I was obviously "misinformed". There is no question it is difficult to read tone from a post.

The funny thing of all this is you aren't necessarily saying that Giddens is DEFINITELY a better athlete than TA, so I am not sure why all the effort.

Keep up the great comments though!

Like I said I didn't mean for it to come across that way. The tone in the second post was because I thought you meant I flipped out on your post when you said I "went off" my own fault for not paying attention to your keyword Tangent. I blew up that section of your post as for it not to be complete random in the thread.

I will admit I'm one of the few on the Giddens bandwagon, any chance I get to build him up I will take (as you might have noticed lol). The effort was just to get through the misunderstanding.

TP right back at ya.
