If the lakers want to clear roster space, how would Scal + 1 for Ariza help them?

I imagine Ariza would be a better fit with us than on the Lakers.

What does the Celts bench lack now with Posey gone and possibly House/Cassell/TAllen/Brown? OFFENSE!!! Even with those 5 players we were still slower on offense than most benches, causing 1 or 2 of the Big 3 having to play extra minutes. Why would we go after Ariza, whom is known for defense not offense? Ainge can't be that desperate already..next we'll hear tat he's wanting to trade for Mark Madsen...

Our best defensive player from the bench right now is Scalabrine. When had any of the Big 3 played extra minutes? I think they played under their career average.

Scoring from the bench may be a slight concern during the reg. season. But during the playoffs it's a moot point. There's no reason to tire Ray or Pierce with though defesinve assignments more than necessary in order to play a scoring winger, for example. I'd rather have a guy who spares them to the offense and provides the spacing they need to operate once there.

About this deal, I guess it's not bad. Ariza is a bit overrated as a defensive player and he has no range, but we'll need to let one of Powe/BBD go anyway, so why not? At least, it'd give us a better salary situation. I have no clear preference on who to keep. But I'd rather try to nab Vujacic under a S&T.

I'm confounded as to what Ainge's offer would consist of? Doesn't seem likely that the Lakers would be interested in the two years remaining on Scalabrine's deal. Maybe this was another proposed Posey sign-and-trade?

I like Ariza but he's a twenty three year old with chronic foot problems, which is a shame.

If either BBD or Powe goes for Ariza then Ainge should resign. Ariza been in the league for 5 years, yet he's still a project. We have enough projects, Tony>Powe>BBD>Ariza Noway Bro!

Tony is nowhere near as effective as Leon Powe and his 20+ PER.  Powe is a much more polished player.

After 4 years in the league, I've had enough of Tony Allen and his turnover prone ways.

My guess would be one of the PFs and cash to pay Scal's second year salary (it would only pay half of it, because Lakers are also in luxury tax hell; that's why I think that any trade involving Scal will be more feasible with a team under the tax threshold)
