Sanders finally picked in 5th round by Browns.  Browns had already picked Dillon Gabriel in the 3rd.

Gabriel was an absolutely terrible pick. I understand that they didn't think Sanders would be there in the 5th, so they would have had to take him in Gabriel's spot, but one of those guys is such a waste of a draft pick. I suppose they are going to let them compete for the job in camp, but the decision was made in the 3rd round already. Why take Sanders after that?

I didn't realize that CLE had already taken a  QB in the 3rd round.  Gabriel is 5'-11", not many QBs that size amount to much in the NFL.  But absolutely, why take Gabriel and Sanders?  Makes no sense.  I said above that I think CLE will regret passing on Hunter and then on Jeanty to take an undersized DL.  They did get other picks, but if they don't pick any better than this, those picks won't amount to much.

I think taking Sanders with a 5th is a good pick, in of itself, just not after taking a QB in the 3rd.  Of course, Graham may become JJ Watt and Gabriel may become Russell Wilson and I will be all wrong but right now, my take is that CLE botched this all around.

"He's highly accurate. Can play well from the pocket. Very productive college career," Browns general manager Andrew Berry said on Saturday. "It wasn't necessarily the plan going into the weekend to draft two quarterbacks. We believe in best player available. We didn't expect him to be available in the fifth."

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

They drafted Gabriel late in the 3rd and Dylan Sampson late in the 4th.  They are saying they thought both were the better available player than Sanders.  When Sampson was selected, they had to know there was a good chance Sanders would still be around for their next pick early in the 5th.

I just don't understand how something like that happens.  Why is the confidential information of draft prospects being left around so that teenage 21 year old twits can access it?  And how stupid does a kid have to be to put his dad's career in jeopardy?
