I've never bothered watching any recaps of Game 7 2010. After the Lakers secured that rebound and tossed the ball across the court with like 3 seconds to go, I just shut off my TV. Didn't even bother watching the confetti fall. Why would I watch the Lakers hoist a trophy after triumphing over the Celtics.

Same thing last night. But it was because I haven't seen the Celtics in the Finals in 12 years. I watched till the final buzzer despite them throwing in the benchwarmers and then turned off the TV. I don't want to watch the opposing team celebrate their championship esp on our home floor. Embarrassing. So no, any Celtics Finals elimination nor playoff eliminations I don't watch. Nor any Patriots Superbowl eliminations for that matter. I only watch my teams win and celebrating.

Will still be around the forum.

i watched for awhile post game 2010. very painful. i was in disbelief. watching the spotlights flash on kobe as he lifted the trophy into the air in the forum. seared into my brain forever. that game probably gave me PTSD.

last night? with that spolied brat crybaby curry? screw him. turned TV off immediately once clock hit 00:00
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Yah no, esp 2010 lol. Every time news outlet, TV media show playbacks of 2010 Game 7...I skip the channel or close it! I thought of Game 7 as the Joey Crawford game where we got the short end of the screw job.

Puke last night. Didn't even know what happened afterwards, didn't even know who won Finals MVP until my friend told me and I was like "oh. hah. Andrew Wiggins got his FMVP stolen then" bcuz Wiggins was pretty dominating for the most part. Same with Gasol in 2010, he should've won FMVP if anything. Can't stand Curry, Klay, Green, Kerr and those punks

Thank you all for your responses. I really do appreciate it. Been on here for a lot of life events. Some good. Some bad. This one right before Father’s Day weekend. Man it’s a bummer. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I will be back. I love you all too much to leave for good.

We love you too, Clay. This place is not the same without that Christopher Lambert avatar giving insightful comments.

This will be last post for a bit, though I will check responses to the thread. This series result upset me more than anything since the series we blew the 3-2 lead against the heat. (And it was more upsetting by a substantial margin). Really thought we should win and really wanted these guys to win it cause they are the last group of guys my deceased dad got chance to watch with me. I know everyone is upset, but wondering how others are handling it. Peace and love to all.

Sorry for your loss  :-[ I'm ok personally. I'm not angry or upset. Been watching the Cs since 1985 so I'm fatalistic about these things. If they didn't win it was because they didn't perform well enough when it counted. I went to sleep and the sun still came up.

They need a bit more seasoning, to go through the pain of a loss to realize that it's not easy to win a championship and the other team is going to try as hard as they can to win, so you really have to take your opportunities. This experience will either make or break them going forward. Will it drive them to greater heights or will they pine for what could have been, or worse, blame external factors (the refs, etc) for the loss? How will Brad and Ime and Wyc respond? Will there be changes? Finding out the answer to that will be a lot of fun.

Everyone deals with things differently though...my dad took it harder, because he's wondering if they will win one in his lifetime. But there's pleasure in the journey as well as the destination, and this team took us on a great journey - it was a tale of redemption as they turned their season around, and gave us hope, even if they fell short at the end. So I can't complain about that.

Doesn’t hurt nearly as bad as 2010. I still am not over that one.

The run to the finals was great. Sad they didn’t win it all but for once I am excited about the next season instead of filled with just hoping they might be good. I feel confident that they are going to the the best team in the east.

I definitely understand 2010 being tough to get over . That one didn’t stick with me too much because I was so proud of the effort of that team that ran out of gas without Perk
This was closer to how I believe the Celtics and Brad quit vs Miami a few years back .

I hate the result but am excited for what’s to come.  These guys get better by being where they’ve been the last couple months.

I went into the season thinking it was another gap year when we had to trade away Kemba and a 1st for Al, and picked up Richardson and a last second Schroeder.  Brad and Udoka were transitioning as well and I had relatively lower expectations.  My expectations were blown away from Jan. to now.  It’s unfortunate how Tatum slowed down as the playoffs went on, whether it’s fatigue, defenses fully focussing on him, injuries or youth but this is how it works.

To feel completely disappointed, I think is selfish and I think we should feel lucky with the results. I think ownership will take them more seriously now and we’ll continue to build for longevity and to try and follow in the footsteps of the Spurs and Warriors to be a dynasty that lasts when we enter the luxury tax zone next year.

As disappointing as it is, we should be proud of these guys because they deserve that at the very least.
TP, great post.

I will continue to follow the team this off-season with the hope that management makes a few bold moves to put the team in position to get back to the Finals and win next time.  This team is close and other teams will get better (Miami and Milwaukee get their full team back) so now is the time for Brad to get busy.  I don't think "running it back" with this group is the answer.

2010 was worse for me because you knew it was probably their lost chance for that group especially since what’s his name took his talents to south beach that summer.
I thought the Celtics were going to have a tough time winning this series because GS just had a much better bench.
It helps when guys like Poole come in because he can score and it allows Curry to rest. Celtics had no one that scared you off the bench. If Tatum or Brown weren’t on their game the Celtics were screwed as we saw with Tatum’s struggles.

A better bench will do wonders for Tatum and Brown.
I hate to say it but Green was right after he made those comments about White, Smart, Horford.
Fix this bench and the Celtics will be right back in this.

Sort of but I do that after every season anyways lol regardless.

Like of course I'll still be here and linger, just probably won't be as active until the Draft and Free Agency. It's also as others said in this thread, there's just a period of time in the offseason when there's really not much happening and not much news.

It hurts, but the best medicine for me is to focus on what moves we can make this off-season to get us two more playoff wins.

I must confess I turned it off with 45 seconds to go and am taking a break from ESPN until the draft because I don’t want to see any Warriors celebration or smoke blowing.

Ooof!  I turned the tv off with 3+ minutes left 😬.  After yet another turnover/weak effort on a play I couldnt watch anymore.  Plus the thought of watching them celebrate on our floor…NOPE.  I was done.

Guess Im a bad fan 🫤

This loss didn't really hit me too hard. The loss to Miami in 2020 was worse and that one was nowhere near the loss in 2010.

I think I'm ok with it because there was progress. It wasn't another conference finals loss. It was the first finals appearance for everyone and they took 2 games off a seasoned champ. If they don't get back next season, I'll be more disappointed.
