Absolutely yes, pause for a short stint. Primarily because the games being played are meaningless d-league level matches that are screwing up team records and ripping off fans.

Heck no. Get on with it. Treat it like any other injury crisis. This is the new normal. We need to learn to live with it.

I really hope the magic nets game today is not the new normal. It is a gleague showcase.

They won't for the near future, because this is also around the same time when you reach the "peak" of NBA season in terms of viewers/ratings since it's Christmas and then New Years soon after.

They'll trudge on.

However, if it becomes an issue nationwide after New Years (which I think it will, don't see how it gets better and more people will travel the next two weeks), they could explore pausing briefly. It's not just the NBA, but you're also seeing the NHL and NFL being impacted too.

It's too much money lost for the NBA if they pause. Show's gotta keep going.

Can't they just push the season back a week or two and arguably make more money from full stadiums?

3 games just postponed. Philly, Cavs, Nets didn't have enough players. Eastern teams absolutely decimated right now. (Bulls and Magic already canceled or near canceled.) Is this because these cities are generally colder or just random?

Who are you asking?  Us, the fans who want the C's to win?  Or the players who want to win?  Or the league who wants more money?

If it gets to the point where 40-50% of the games are being postponed, think they have to.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Stop letting fans in the arenas, bring back the mask mandate for all staff/media in the building, make it clear to players that future potential earnings are on the line so be safe/steer clear of crowds,  and perhaps the season will be salvageable?

I guess my general question is to the posters of this board. Would you rather the season continue along with games featuring 10 d league call up players in rotations or take a break and get the actual stars back on the floor. Something like 4 or 5 eastern players that made the all star game are currently active.

The Cs just lost JRich to protocols. JT tweaked his ankle vs NY. They probably need to sign another G Leaguer in order to make 8 guys.

Didn’t we lose JRich to protocols after Portland like two weeks ago?

Another postponed player today because Heat could not get 8 players signed even with the new rules. I am wondering if we are going to start seeing less games postpones or more with the new 5 day period and constant signing of ten day guys. I would also be curious if any of these guys are feeling sick at all or are mostly just ok. Was scary with players last year. Embid was only player I heard come out and say it was really scary this season.

Well considering they are almost all vaccinated and many are boosted, I would guess that they aren't getting as sick because that is just what is happening every where else.  If you are vaccinated, you by and large aren't getting sicker than normal flu like symptoms, if you get any symptoms at all.  There are exceptions of course, but I'm guessing most are very little in way of symptoms.  So hopefully they do come back right at 5 days and don't miss more than a game or two at a time.
