Another dumb trade proposal.  Morey would hang up the phone laughing and block the phone number after hearing it.  Also, 5 players for 1 doesn't work unless you identify the 4 other players the Sixers are going to have to release to make it work.

Maybe we can table a more enticing offer once Smart and Schroder become trade eligible. Assuming the Jays are off the table, we gotta include at least Smart and Timelord to make the Sixers listen. I guess we'd have to find a 3rd team for Timelord cause the Sixers already got Embiid. For instance:

Smart cannot be traded till January 20. Schroder cannot be traded till December 14.

PG: Pritchard (perfect fit next to Simmons)
SG: Brown
SF: Tatum
PF: Simmons
C: Horford

This would be a championship-caliber team in my book.

Imo, this is offensive for the Sixers. I'd do it in a heartbeat for the Celtics. Not sure whether Wyc would be happy to pull the trigger though, cause the luxury tax would explode through the roof. Given that A) we were unwilling to match NY's offer for Fournier and B) we dumped Theis for practically nothing at last season's deadline, I would argue that Wyc is cheap.

According to Ryen Russillo and Zach Lowe, the Celtics are interested in Simmons. I'm assuming we've already made our offer(s) and the Sixers have turned it/them down.

Both parties (or is it all three) seem to be content to wait. But events may change that; Simmons tearing it up makes him more desirable.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

Please watch your language with the dumb trade proposal.  This is all hypothetical and if you look at the poll results it's fairly balanced.

I loathe Simmons, and I love both PP & Nesmith. The talent in this exchange massively favours us, but I don't think I could bring myself to trading for Simmons at all given these recent stunts he's been pulling.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

One of the benefits of watching Romeo, PP, Rob… play well is that they become assets rather than throw-ins.  I guess I’d have to doubt Philly would take the offer as constituted but getting Simmons without giving up either Jay sounds great to me.

Depending on Ben Simmons in a playoff game: not something I’d like to do. He’s like Kyrie, in that he doesn’t enjoy the not-so-fun parts of being an NBA player, but he’s got less talent. Hard pass.

Deal Tatum and Smart
For?
Unless the name is something like Giannis or Luka, then I'm not sure there is much out there worth contemplating (and of course the Bucks and Mavs wouldn't do that anyway).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I'd move Smart for Simmons (among many other players). Off the top of my head, I'd move Tatum only for Luka, Giannis or Jokic.

Fans overreact all the time. That's what we do. When the team wins, Tatum is a future top 5 player in the NBA. When we lose, we should trade him. It doesn't make sense. I'm kinda tired reading this stuff tbh. It seems like we rarely talk about basketball.

Don't like the way we play thus far. Too much iso ball. Not enough team basketball. Tatum is an elite PnR ball handler for his size. Timelord is a decent screener and a terrific roller. Why on earth don't we constantly run PnR plays with those two? If they work on it, they can become an unstoppable PnR duo. Smart is a reliable PnR ball handler as well, but he's mostly a facilitator rather than a shot creator. Brad's offense was built around Tatum's ability to run the PnR. Hope Ime has a similar offensive plan in mind. To be fair, Tatum run quite a few PnR plays last night.

Last night was the first time they used Rob on offense well.   I think some of this ball movement will in the long run will help with developing the team and our assets but one has to realize that this will be rough to watch at times as they figure this out.

Yeah, I'd move Smart for Simmons (duh). I agree about your Tatum assessment, he's the real deal
