Didn’t know Redick is 36.. wow

Reddick is a shooter he can play until he's Brady's age.

He's off to an awful start this season but the Pelicans run some really terrible offense so lots of poor looks and late shot clock.
ok fine

A couple of league sources mentioned after the Harden trade to Brooklyn that it’s a matter of time before he finds his way into a buyout and joins up to give them help with the interior

...and get made whole by the Nets, who have a $5,727,024 disabled-player exception (Spencer Dinwiddie).

So the Nets can offer $5.7M to a buy out candidate.  Tough to compete with that.

Word out is Pels are trying to rid themselves of Lonzo AND JJ Redick!  Would love to have a 23 yr old 6'6" point guard and a sniper off the bench like JJ.  He's not had a good season, but he's been little used, and it's a big role change he hasn't got used to.
Should be able to work something out with Pels that wouldn't be too heinous, as it seems they're basically trying to shed $$$$$!

My understanding of Lonzo Ball is that he’s a great ball handler and passer, but struggles running point in the half court.

I’m wondering if he could be a wing and secondary ball handler.  He’s tall enough. Anyone have thoughts on that?

I see him as a good wing defender off the bench. In that role he'd be worth picking up.

Why?

If that's all you want him to do, might as well just wait for Langford to come back.

Former Sixer and veteran NBA journeyman Ersan Ilyasova is reportedly eyeing a return to the NBA, and multiple teams are interested.

He's a disruptive on-ball defender with good size and he's got great open court vision. He's one of the best passers in the NBA with the ball in his hands less than 1 second.

I'm a fan of Ersan, he fills a need for us and his skill set fits with our system.

I'm not sure when Langford will be back and for how long. I like Langford but he's not reliable at this point. It would also be nice to get a good long look at Ball.

Interesting, 6'-9", 33 years old, 2019/20 season with MIL had 6.6 pts and 4.8 rebs in about 16 min per game.  So does that put him right ahead of Grant Williams on the depth chart but behind Theis?

I would say so.

A stretch-4 with playoff experience who plays credible defense and adds scoring and rebounding production?  My guess is that we will take a hard pass. ;)

I get it, sarcasm.  But his scoring and rebounding production last season on MIL was 6 points and 5 rebs.  Now he is a year older and coming off a long lay off.  Grant Williams is giving us 5 points and 3 rebs in about the same minutes.  That is a very modest upgrade to the end of the bench.

With his length, Ersan may match up better defensively to other teams' bigs than Grant Williams.  Yeah, he would be a useful player on the bench but it is a pretty modest addition.

Of course, now he is going to sign somewhere and put up double-doubles for a couple of weeks and this forum will light up but what can you do.

Ilyasova was significantly better.
