Starters=Kemba, Brown, Tatum, Aaron Gordon, TurnerBench=Wanna, Fournier, Theis, KanterIn my scenario traded Hayward, Smart, GW, Edwards and picks for Fournier, Aaron G., and Myles Turner.

Quote from: gouki88 on January 09, 2020, 05:40:46 PMThere are definitely lineups where Kanter offers more than Theis. That may be the case if the opponent isn't equipped to run Kanter off the floor.I think Philly may be one such matchup.Against Miami, Milwaukee, Indiana, or Toronto, though? I don't think the Celts are likely to be able to get away with playing Kanter very much.

Playoff rotation won't be set until we know what happens at the trade deadline.

Kemba, Brown, Tatum, Hayward, Theis, SmartThese guys will get most of the minutesWanamaker, I expect will get regular time but not much. Then pick among the following for spot minutes depending on matchups:Semi, GRANT, Kanter, Timelord (if healthy)Nobody else should see the floor unless it's a blowout. In particular I would say that Kanter should probably not see the floor against a quality opponent unless it's the Sixers. Anybody else will likely be able to pick and roll him right off the floor. The ideal bench for this team would swap out Wanamaker, Semi, and Kanter for a VanVleet / Barea type guard, a PJ Tucker type wing, and a solid two-way big a la Amir Johnson circa 2015.There's no realistic way for the Celts to revamp the bench like that, though. Even so, I think they can go far in the playoffs, depending on matchups.
A perfect example of a team with a great rotation but ended up being a bust in the playoffs is the 2018 Raptors. That was the last year of DeRozan as a Raptor. The Raps were #1 in the east that season and their bench was very deep. But the Cavs swept them in the 2nd round of the playoffs. While it's true the bench plays a big role in the regular season, in the playoffs, the starters will play more while the bench will play less.So even if the Celts improve their bench, Celts will still not go far in the playoffs if the starting unit is flawed.

People don't have like my idea. But my thinking was the starting line up needs a change not just the bench. I changed the starters to have better defense and rebounding while added a scorer to the bench
