Horford is much more versatile offensively.
Has bigger range, handles the ball better, passes on the move. Better clutch option with scoring/passing combo.
I viewed Al as Tim Duncan light. Leader, skilled, loved, winner.

Absolutely agree. Al horford is playing better then KG.
Kevin Garnett favorite shot was a long 2, a foot inside the 3 point line...almost laughable to think about now, he was also a lot of bark and very little bite while al is class personified
That is some crazy recency bias. In our championship run KG scored, rebounded and defended better than Al has this season and postseason. Al is a better shooter and passer, but you can’t seriously say Al is playing better than KG did for us

Say what you will but I agree with him saying al is more comparable to Tim Duncan then KG.
Never forget his 3 rebound performance in our game 7 loss to the Lakers while pau gasol had 18. Lots of bark...soft as tissue paper

KG's spirit was split into 2 in this group. Horford got the intelligence and overall game from KG. Smart got the intensity and defensive impact.

Although Horford is more comparable to Duncan than KG in a sense that they are quiet, skillful leaders.

You realize that Garnett was 34 and Gasol is close to 5 years younger, right?

Worth noting that the 2012 Heat were a far better team than this Cavs squad and the Celts might've won that series if they had home court.

If the Heat had a healthy Chris Bosh at the start of the series, the Celtics would have probably lost in 5 or 6 games.

Haha, wow. Calling KG soft is just ridiculous. Whatever man

Al is playing like KG when he was already washed up post knee injury.

Anthony Davis is what KG would be in todays NBA.

Some of you guys are unbelievable.

Yeah. Basically KG with range because of the era. Al is bringing similar aspects mentally, but c'mon.

And if Boston had had Bradley the Celtics could have very well won that series in the same amount of games, imo, plus Pierce had injured his knee and that other dude was hurt, as well. Sigh. If only we had drafted better and signed Boris Diaw after he had been waived or whatever by the Bobcats during that season, as he would have been great, here, imo :'(.

And as for Horford playing like any version of KG :o, well, no, just no, lol.

He's stepping up when we need him the most.

I thought that Tristan Thompson was going to bottle him up but he played well against him - not missing a beat.

And he seems to be having FUN out there while remaining business-like. I love it.

That smile he had on his face when he got that steal at the end of Game 3 versus PHI said it all to me - he WANTS this and he has a LOT to prove.

Keep at it, Big Fella.

Perhaps most impressive is Horford seems to be draining 3 point shots at key times whether it be spurring a Celtics run or swinging momentum back from Cleveland.

In the post-season, Horford has been excellent and rests some of the regular season 'where are the gaudy stats?' concerns some may have had (I may have been guilty of not looking deep enough at his contribution). His veteran experience and calmness is proving to be worth its weight in gold.

Horford gets alot of heat/hate from fans because of his pedestrian stats on paper....but people finally are seeing the effect that he has on the team and changed the culture/trajectory of this team.

think about it. Before horford got here, celts had 2 first round exits and the storyline was "no free agent wants to come here" and Brad stevens has been bad in the playoffs.

One horford gets here, we go to two straight ECF and this is a destination where guys like Hayward/Kyrie want to come to. his signing here affected the team off the court in being our first big FA signing in years, and on the court as his savvy play has improved our team.
