He's stopping dribble penetration from guards. He's swatting everything at the rim. He's shutting guys down in the post. He's running the break. He's finishing in the paint. He's hitting jumpers. His play right now is very Garnett-esque. Honestly i never thought i'd say that about any player but unless my eyes are deceiving me this seems to be true. He's not rebounding like Garnett but that's the only noticeable difference i'm seeing right now at this moment. Agree or disagree?

He's playing like a combination of KG and Rajon Rondo. Even that doesn't describe is real well.  Ball-handling, shooting, passing, defense.

Best he’s ever played. What a great modern 4/5. So glad he’s our guy. He is leading this team.

Easily the most important player on this team. Through the first 14 playoff games he has been absolutely stellar. Garnett was very inconsistent in the playoffs for us, and would almost consistently put on a disappearing act in the 4th quarter. Al has been the opposite of that - really comes through for this team in the clutch.

Horford stayed in front of a 6' guard (Hill) then swatted his shot effortlessly at the rim. He also blocked a step back jumper like it was nothing (Hood). His defensive impact is insane at this point.

He basically stared down the entire Cavs team after that dirty play by Smith, and then completely dominated the game on both ends for the next two minutes. I've never seen him take control like that.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Horford will have a better (and longer) tenure with the Celtics than Garnett.

Always thought Al and KG had a lot in common.  Both are more facilitator than scorer.  Bot great defenders.

Garnett played in BOS for 6 years. Horford has already played for 2. I don't think its a stretch for Horford to end his career in BOS, esp. if they are contending and they give him another contract (albeit a cheaper one).
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

you're not wrong. that block from outside on that step back jay was INSANE. just insane. our D is suffocating at times and we are all up in the cavs grills.. we need to keep punishing them and pound them on both ends.

I agree ... this current playoff run reminds me of nothing so much as that playoff run in 2012.  That was KG's last great run.

Worth noting that the 2012 Heat were a far better team than this Cavs squad and the Celts might've won that series if they had home court.

that heat team was stacked. as crazy as it sounds we could have won that series in 5? how so when we lost in 7 you say? easy. remember the great performance by rondo in game 2? the fouls not called especially at the end on D wade? we could have won that one. remember we won 3 straight even after that screwjob from the refs. lebron killed us in game 6 as we could not close out and we hung on for 3 qaurters in miami until bosh put us away in the 4th with a nail in the coffin in game 7. but yeah we were much closer to winning that series than people remember if they watched game 2.

During his Atlanta years, I always thought of him as a KG-like player but thought he was soft. I started changing my mind when we played against him in the playoffs a few years back... and definitely since he has been in Boston. Great player, team-minded, who can do it all and doesn't get enough praise or stats but is vital.

Horford is much more versatile offensively.
Has bigger range, handles the ball better, passes on the move. Better clutch option with scoring/passing combo.
I viewed Al as Tim Duncan light. Leader, skilled, loved, winner.

Absolutely agree. Al horford is playing better then KG.
Kevin Garnett favorite shot was a long 2, a foot inside the 3 point line...almost laughable to think about now, he was also a lot of bark and very little bite while al is class personified
