All Ainge had to do was not blindside IT.  Imagine if a modicum of respect is the differenve between the Celts landing their ultimate prize? Ouchies.

To his credit, it sounds like Davis has a good head on his shoulders.  And he has all the leverage right now.
What respect? Did Ainge ever told IT he won't trade him?

He blindsided his franchise player of 2 years.  He who singlehandedly dragged the team up from the dregs of the barrel.  That's disrespectful, poor business, and surprising to many -- as you can see here, that list includes Davis.  Tough break.
Blindside? IT was making comments about backing up the Brinks trunk and wearing Brinks truck slippers. I love IT. But we all know DA is ruthless. If he didn't think he could go to the next step with IT, then he was right in making the move (regardless of what we who loved IT thought). He didn't want to pay him that much money for his age/hip issue.

Everything that you stated is true.  And yet, the 2x all-star and All-NBA player was blindsided.  Many believe that is poor business, hence Davis' comment. Ironically, Davis' opinion is probably gospel to a considerable portion of Celtic fans.  Tough break.
What? so is Danny supposed to tell him that he is going to trade him before the trade complete?
does this make things any better? and what about if the trade fail?(see what got us in that ray allen situiation)
And you are saying that IT did not know there is a possibility he will get traded by Ainge? especially after KI's trade request went up?
I don't want to use the word but this is nonsense

how about you tell us what you will do that you think is not a poor business?

It wouldn't be a subject matter or article that references IT in any way without tarheels spouting his usual tiresome crap about the trade.

Yawn.

I think going for Davis was more probable when we had a chest full of assets.   We don't have as much in the chest but could still make a strong offer.  But I think it is less probable due to less assets and the growth of Brown and Tatum.

Yeah, they gave up a lot more for the Kyrie overpay/deal, but part of that was due to Isaiah's nagging hip injury.

Give him credit, he's persistent lol.

I hated the deal initially and still think it was an overpay, but so far the Kyrie experience has been great and I've truthfully moved on.

That is.. until we see Isaiah burn us in games while in a Cavaliers uniform (maybe as early as January)  ;)  :P
