Smart is a better defender than Bradley

No
Yes. And stats prove that. Explain why our defense has been better with Bradley OFF the floor the past two years and better with Smart ON the floor?

For example, our D was 3.5 points better per 100 possessions with Bradley off the bench. Meanwhile, it was 3.6 better with Smart on the floor.

When Bradley successfully guards the likes of Kristaps, Millsap and Al Jefferson, get back to me.

You have to be joking. Smart has been successful guarding them in very short stretches.

Bradley has been successful defending every G in the league (the best of any team, to hide Thomas, which is an added value).

I think players complaining about Bradley not being chosen for the all-NBA defensive team (even when he was the closest player) may finish the debate.

And I love Smart. Now even more than Bradley, because he's still with us. But let's take away the smoke from our eyes.

no update on AB twitter site.  Basically no word from him yet about the trade

likely this won't happen

but what if he fails the physical or doesn't show up for it....   trade doesn't go through right?

Why do you bring up such nonsense?  He's not going to fail the physical and he's certainly not going to refuse to go to it.

They still play in Auburn Hills a suburb north of Detroit.  He won't be living in Detroit proper.  He'll go as a 1 year rental and then most likely leave.

I would say Smart is better than AB defensively at the following things: off-ball D and charge-taking, post D, chasing and bothering shooters taller than 6'4" on off-ball screens.  AB is considerably better at pressuring the ball and staying with the elite dribble penetration point guards in the league off the dribble.

AB posted a "bad boys pistons" picture on instagram and caption "chapter 2"

Bradley was in the 19th percentile in defending isolation plays.

But I can't disagree that he's better than [dang] near everyone at hounding quick ballhandlers.
