I kind of figured pistol Pete would be in the conversation, but did he move the ball with as much speed and quickness as Kyrie? Want the game a lot slower back then?
The game was faster but the players were slower. Pete was awesome in the open court but he could never break down defenders in the half court like Irving.
Thanks for putting into words what I was thinking about. It is that ability to break down defenders that is just astounding.
Kudos to AB for actually 'staying' with him through some of those barrages of moves.
Yeah on one play kyrie made a bunch of lightening quick moves and Bradley moved exactly with him like it was choreographed... then Kyrie missed a shot and was bailed out by the refs.
An interesting stat on Bradley is that he has zero charges taken this year. Some may see that as a negative looking at what Smart is able to do, but that just shows you how locked in Avery gets when he is guarding the best PGs one on one - he doesn't back down at all.
That certainly is a crazy stat. Just a different style from Smart. Smart guesses where the offensive player is going and beats him to the spot and takes the punishment. Bradley just keeps moving his feet and swiping at the ball, never holding his position to take the charge. Maybe because is is frail compaired to Smart or because of past shoulder problems? Seems to me he would be an even better defender if he did take some charges. His feet are more than quick enough to beat the offensive player to the spot. Sorry that post was off topic.
