Baaaah, would've like Grant on this team.

The Sixers on Tuesday traded Grant to the Thunder for forward Ersan Ilyasova and a conditional future pick.

The Sixers intend to keep Ilyasova, according to a source.

According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, who first reported the deal, the Thunder had been pursuing Grant for several months.

Great deal for Philly, turns a redundant piece into a conditional first and a league average starter 4, who happens to come from the same country that one of your top young talents has been playing in for the last 2 years. Ersan Ilyasova is a 10 year veteran and will be an excellent influence on Dario Saric.

Good deal for both sides, Thunder just got even more athletic.

Positive veteran influence on the Sixers?!

Sam Hinke's received a ton of credit lately for how Embiid, Simmons, and Saric have turned out, but this trade was a straight Jerry Colangelo descision.

The times are a changing in Philly.

I dunno, seems based on the same logic as the Luc Mbah a Moute pick up some time ago.

IIRC they had more of a roster crunch than we did so adding a pick is preferable to adding an extra player

Yeah, I for one am shocked that they'd prefer a protected first over two guys who no team would give even a second for.  :o

Yeah, I don't see that this is really departing from the Hinkie timetable at all. I don't know that he would've made this move, specifically, but I'm willing to bet he'd have made similar moves last summer to bring vets in. Now would be the part of The Process when that starts.
