Also, just an absolute trash article in the OP from Bleacher Report. They took a tweet from a guy who writes sparingly for the AP, and just speculated on it without even verifying it. It was a really terrible piece of internet blogging.

Do you really think the rumor is farfetched? Monroe was a horrible fit on the Bucks and is basically an expiring contract. Even Steve Kyler retweeted the original tweet, which read:

Sources: Bucks are shopping Greg Monroe hard. He's owed $17.1 million next season and has a $17.8 million player option for 2017-18 season.

I said it was a bad article. Not that the original rumor was far-fetched.

Tobias Harris was traded for Ilyasova and Brandon Jennings, I cant imagine Monroe would have even the same value.

That relies on John Hammond being as stupid as Rob Hennigan, and not just any Rob Hennigan, but a Rob Hennigan being pressured by Scott Skiles to make a trade he didn't want to make. Nobody in the entire NBA thinks that Orlando got fair value for Harris, and everyone lauded Van Gundy as basically stealing a productive player with a potentially bright future, so no, I don't think it serves to compare the two players' situations.

Both players were in similar situations, though - it's not like Harris or Monroe really cost Orlando or Milwaukee anything except cap space. Orlando made a peculiar trade in not getting any picks back, but it seems like Milwaukee is just looking to move on from a signing that isn't really working out. Look what happened with Detroit and Josh Smith - that is like the worst case scenario at what can happen when you sign a FA. If Detroit had just tried to trade Smith earlier, they wouldn't have been on the hook for his entire contract after cutting him.

Sure, but Greg Monroe played a lot better than Josh Smith did with the Pistons. That is a worst case scenario though, what happened with Josh Smith.

Harris and Monroe are similar in the way they neither guy seems like he's a great fit with what his current coach (for Harris, his former coach) has planned for him. But Harris is a good example of what happens when you move a guy you know you're not utilizing/coaching correctly. Harris after his move to Detroit (not counting the playoffs) was playing at pretty close to an All-star level.

If Greg Monroe came to Boston, we'd love the guy.

The thing is, I don't think Monroe has ever played with a true floor-spacing big to provide him space in the paint to operate. He's always been paired with people like Drummond or Parker, though Parker is a little better for next to him.

He's a true, low-post center that could legitimately put up 20/10 in the right system. Add a floor spacing, defensive big like Horford next to him and you have one of the best 4/5 combos in the league.

Actually I think a player like Monroe us just what the Warrior's need to win next year. It was pathetic that their only option was to chuck up three's when they desperately needed a hoop.

 Monroe
 Draymond
 Barnes
 Thompson
 Curry

Would be a lethal inside out team .

As long as the asking price isnt to high I would be all for replacing Sully with Monroe.

I wouldn't.  Cap wise it would be a figurative kick in our cap nards.

LOL. Let the buyer beware
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about
