Very feel good read prior to the playoffs. I liked the way IT senior told him 'this is the best thing that will ever happen to your career' and his recollection of the fans response after they had been swept by the Cavs. Two points right there that say Boston is different in a very positive way.

TP to the OP.

It actually seems quite common for players who wear, or have worn in the recent past, the Celtics green to speak very fondly of their time in Boston.

Still, a lot of folks seem genuinely surprised every time they hear these kinds of sentiments.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Yeah we hear it all the time about how much they love playing here.  I really think we'll have a shot at big name free agents this summer.

I do too. This summer and next. IT is one of the most popular players in the league amongst other players. His clear, visible love for Boston, Ainge, Stevens, us fans and this young, rising Celtic team speak volumes about why this team is one of the best to play for in the NBA. If your KD, you've always liked Boston, and a guy as respected as IT writes a featured article in the Tribune about how incredible it is to play here, you have to consider it even more now right? I mean, you put KD on this current team and we could easily win the east. If you win a chip here as a major piece, your a god forever. Your number will be retired and you'll forever be showed with affection the moment you enter the garden. You'll be a part of the greatest franchise in the history of professional sports in America.

I LOVED this article. Major TP's to the OP. It warms me up inside to hear IT talk about us as a city and a fan base so well. Word to FA's: Go to Boston. You can be a legend if you want to be.

That Sully dig has to be rooted in some in-joke somewhere.

To all these people getting chills: I think Danny probably gives that "you can be a celtics legend" spiel to all FAs and trade targets.

[dang] I'd like to see IT have a big game or three in this series. Really silence doubters for once and all.

Best at-pace handles in the league.

Very cool article, I hope IT plays his whole career here, it would be an even greater story.

I actually think he was just referring to Sully standing out because he is such a big dude - I don't get the feeling that the 'restaurant' part of the comment had any hidden meaning, or that it was a diss.  IT doesn't seem like the type of guy to take shots at a team-mate like that publicly, even as a playful joke.

I don't see why not.  Money?  Check.  Winning team?  Check.  Good coach and Gm?  Check.  Sold-out home games? Check.

The biggest issue we have is the weather, there is no doubt that this affects players choices.
