Spurs beat GSW 87-79 at home. Streak continues

I think it's meaningful that the Spurs defense was able to hold Golden State to 79 points with Curry, Thompson, and Green all in the lineup. It's going to be a good Western Conference Finals, for sure.

And no Iggy, the NBA Finals MVP???  And no Bogut, a second team All-NBA defender last year???

That game was in no way meaningful and might even hurt SA come playoff time and give them a false sense of confidence.  Remember, once again, that GS played on the road in Dallas the night before.  Back to backs are hard enough, but back to back road games are the toughest typically.

Iggy and Bogut are important players but neither are top 3 on the team and the Warriors scored 35 points below what they average. That's impressive, to me.

And we all need to remember that Golden State was playing in a back to back and SA was NOT!!  This was also GS's 4th game of the week and only the 3rd for SA.

Those things simply DO NOT happen in the playoffs.

Too many people are overplaying this alleged "huge win" by the Spurs.

It truly is, for all practical purposes, meaningless, other than the Spurs home winning streak!!!

Yeah, people can really exaggerate the significance of regular season games. Lucky for GS the Lakers won't make the playoffs, because the Lakers beat them by 17 points.

GS is in trouble if they meet the Blazers in the playoffs. Blazers beat them by 32.

It is interesting though looking at GS's losses:

Milwaukee (13 pts)
Dallas (23)
Denver (2)
Detroit (18)
Portland (32)
LAL (17)
SA (

Not the most impressive list of teams. Just shows that sometimes you lose, even if the opponent isn't as good as you.

With 2 more against SA, it will be interesting to see if they can both keep their home streaks alive.
