As for the discussion on Turner, trading him comes down to how ready both Smart and Crowder are to step up. If Smart runs the O and Crowder starts before they are ready and fail, it's no good for anyone. I'd say unless it's a steal of a deal we might want to hang on to Turner for at least the first half of the season. As much as he's the they guy we'd like to replace, he does deserve a lot of credit for the wins we got last year.
Ideally the Celtics have a future 4-guard rotation of Smart, Rozier, IT and Hunter in the making. For now, the question whether Smart and/or Rozier are capable of facilitating the offense during the 20-25 minutes IT isn't on the floor. I believe Crowder has earned the starting SF role because of his tenacious defensive ability; the question at that position is whether either Terrence Jones or James Young is worthy of significant playing time. Given the uncertainties at both guard and SF, Turner has value as a safety valve at both positions, if only for the near future.
On the other hand, Avery Bradley may be more valuable as a trade chip than as a part of the Celts' long-term future, given his severe limitations on the offensive end of the floor. Removing him from the overcrowded guard picture opens up more potential development opportunities for Rozier and Hunter.
I thought he scored 14 a game last year.
That 14 ppg is a bit of a mirage given the lack of offensive options on the team the last two seasons. He's only a decent shooter and doesn't get the to rim very well (though his off-ball cutting is terrific).
When we're talking about "offensive limitations" though, we can't ignore that scoring isn't everything. Bradley is not good at handling the ball and can't create shots for anyone else. The lack of dribbling makes it hard just to create anything for himself. He's also small so it's hard for him to get his shot off over bigger defenders, which he will almost always face.
