Out of curiosity, what do you think Kyrie Irving would get on the open market?
Full max.
Sorry I meant to ask... what do you think he could get if they offered him up as trade bait. Just saying if hypothetically the Cavs got Wade, how difficult would it be to move Kyrie for a dominant player at a different position? Say, for instance, you're Philly... and the Cavs call you up offering you Kyrie for one of your star big prospects...
I know that the Cavs moving Kyrie is super unlikely. I'm just saying that if they had the luxury of Wade, maybe they could move Kyrie for something equally awesome that fit better.
I meant offering him up on the open trade market. Say for instance the Kings actually decide to draft a center and move DeMarcus Cousins... is anyone beating an offer built around Kyrie Irving?
I'm having trouble thinking of a plausible star-for-star swap that would really benefit the Cavs.
Perhaps Irving for Favors? Irving for Bledsoe and the Morris twins?
Kyrie is basically a rich man's version of young Mo Williams. Great fit with LeBron. Doesn't make sense to trade him.
My first thought would be…
Oladipo
Frye
#5
for
Irving
#24
Oladipo could do a lot of the things Irving can(w/ worse shooting and better D). Frye is the perfect stretch 4 to play with James. With the #5 pick they could go many directions, but I would think Justice Winslow, a guy that can really defend, looks like an ideal fit.
For the Magic, Irving is an upgrade over Oladipo and would provide them with the scoring/star power they lack. A Payton and Irving is a questionable fit, but Irving is a better shooter than Oladipo so the spacing problem in the backcourt improves.
