Wade can opt out.   If Wade trusts his honeyboo, he can probably sign a 1 year MLE deal in Cleveland and then when the cap jumps 20 mil next season he can get a fat contract from GM LeBron. If lebron himself keeps taking 1 year deals, he can basically call all the shots and give money to whoever he tells the Cavs to give money to.

Oh so my idea gets jumped on after I post it. I said all of this last night in the playoffs thread when I saw Wade talking it up with Iggy. LOL

I was too lazy to make this thread though. :(
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I personally would not be happy if Wade somehow managed to join Lequeen, and while I'll admit that DewAyne has lost a step, I think his ability to create his own shot would help the CLE a lot.

On Wade though- since most posters feel it's not CLE he may leave for, then where? Someone mentioned NYK. Lakers? Chicago? Boston?  ;D

I wonder, would the Heat sign-and-trade Wade for Brendan Haywood's contract and other assets?

I think Wade next to Irving would be a lousy combination, but you never know.

The Bradley haters should come up with a sign and trade proposal for Wade.

I honestly think this has like a 1% chance of happening, but who knows.  Wade could end up on the Cavs.  Out of curiosity, what do you think Kyrie Irving would get on the open market?

That would be a horrible fit of Wade in Cleveland. First, they don't need anymore injury-prone players in addition to what they already got. Second, where does Wade fit in the offense? As we saw all season long, the Cavs' entire offense is Lebron or Kyrie ISO, which necessitates having a shooter at the 2. Wade is by no means a shooter, and though he's good with off-the-ball movement, he largely needs the ball in his hands to be effective. Now Shump isn't a knock-down shooter by any means either, but he's a better three point shooter than Wade and doesn't need the ball to be effective. Furthermore, at this stage in his career Wade is not as good as Shump defensively, and per their respective salaries, Shump can provide a similar amount of production at a much smaller price.

At this point in his career, Wade on the Cavs would be only slightly better than Waiters was.

Wade can still play at a really high level, but it's a terrible fit on that roster.

If he's gonna leave Miami, I'd rather see him go to a team that could use a complementary scorer on the wing and doesn't play too fast a pace.  Pacers?  Wizards? Mavericks?

I think Wade would be more productive than Shumpert, but I agree with all of your other points.  Spacing would suffer, defense would suffer, durability would suffer.  Additionally, assuming that Love comes back, we'd be talking about Wade being the fourth option in the offense.

Now, if the Cavs re-signed Shumpert, and brought Wade off the bench as sixth man, I'd be more in favor of it, although he'd be pretty pricey in that role.

As much as I agree that he'd be a poor fit, there's still a significant chasm between Waiters and Wade.

Sure, that's a gross exaggeration.

Still, would he be much more useful than, say, J.R. Smith?  At least J.R. Smith can get hot from outside.  Wade is as post-heavy as Kobe was at this point in his career, but he has no outside shot.

Sorry I meant to ask... what do you think he could get if they offered him up as trade bait.   Just saying if hypothetically the Cavs got Wade, how difficult would it be to move Kyrie for a dominant player at a different position?  Say, for instance, you're Philly... and the Cavs call you up offering you Kyrie for one of your star big prospects...

I know that the Cavs moving Kyrie is super unlikely.  I'm just saying that if they had the luxury of Wade, maybe they could move Kyrie for something equally awesome that fit better.

I meant offering him up on the open trade market.  Say for instance the Kings actually decide to draft a center and move DeMarcus Cousins... is anyone beating an offer built around Kyrie Irving?

I think there is less than 1% chance that Kyrie gets moved. He apparently gets along amazingly well with the defacto GM (Lebron). I think Lebron really highly values that Kyrie can handle the ball very well, generate his own offense and has young legs (I think he has actually said this). I can't imagine a situation where Lebron, coming off a season where his best two teammates finished injured, wants to trade the young guy out for a perennially injured 34 year old even it means he gets to add a star at a different position.

I'm having trouble thinking of a plausible star-for-star swap that would really benefit the Cavs.

Perhaps Irving for Favors?  Irving for Bledsoe and the Morris twins?

Kyrie is basically a rich man's version of young Mo Williams.  Great fit with LeBron.  Doesn't make sense to trade him.

Wade makes no sense for Cleveland with a healthy Kyrie Irving.  LeBron is not stupid. He knows the Cavs need an injection of fresher legs.
