Anyone else cringe watching Olynk play D?

Sure Olynyk's defense isn't great, but the team plays better with him in there (stats courtesy of NBA.com)

Sullinger: -3.3
Zeller: -4.2
Bass: -1.5
Crowder: +2.3

Now this doesn't mean Olynyk is the best big on the team, and this doesn't factor into the level of competition (Olynyk plays more against back ups than starters) but it does say that lineups with Olynyk in them have performed better than lineups with any other bigs on the C's.

He hasn't started in a game since November of last year (and he's only started in a total of 13 games).  It might just say that he's getting more effective as the season is wearing on and/or that coach Stevens is getting better at putting him in positions to succeed and help the team succeed.

I think Olynyk and Zeller are eruopean-profile centers. Just not strong enough to compete with NBA players. By that I don't mean just phisicaly, but mentaly as well. Soft, smooth players who can make great career overseas. Type of players like Tomi? (Barcelona) or Reyes (Real Madrid). Although, Tomi? is coming after 7 years to Utah (drafted 2008). Won't make big numbers I suppose.

 I think there are too many big, tough centers in the league from Europe right now to try to insult a couple of North American players as being "European-profile" in their minds and bodies.

To be fair, KO only started early in the year, when the C's had by far their toughest stretch of schedule, as well as the drags of Rondo and Green starting(!), Smart too green to make an impact, etc. The play of the rest of the team is like night and day between November and the last couple of months.
