Don't hate on the guy. I posted a Rondo for Asik and draft picks a few months ago, so I know where OP is coming from. However, Lin is not good anymore, and I wouldn't like their combined salaries. We could probably get better for Rondo.

Awful. I like Asik, but that contract is miserable. Lin isn't a player you want unless you're tanking heavily.

Wallace and Asik on the same payroll? Disgusting.

Asik is good and only 26 , linn is a serviceable starter. The problem is this is a lateral move where the celtics lose he best player.

ne superstar for two average to below average players.....what do you think..? They both could be better.....but in the nba, just like in the working world...it is politics to get in the action..! Asik will get to play more than lin.....lin needs to be outstanding to get a chance.....asik has shown to be decent....sometimes good....but rondo is star material...he is in the westbrook, cp3 class.....deron plays good all year..but always folded in the playoffs...rondo just gets better..no matter the pressure...he likes it more.....!!! Not a common quality..!

Just ran this through the trade machine and it works:

Asik for  Bass and J Crawford

Solves our Center problem for the future and gets rid of two players we do not need anymore. Without hurting our future cap space much.

And Houston needs Center/PF depth help.

I know I don't want the C's making any sill FA signings this offseason, but I really like Asik.

If we can dump Wallace and get Demo and picks in return along with Asik and Lin, it may be worth it.
This. I'm not following the part about Lin and Asik not being good players. If they aren't good players then there's only about 8 good players at their positions. I'm not necessarily placing them top ten at their positions. I'm just saying I'm not following the part about them not being good players. Their contracts maybe, but not them

>WojYahooNBA: Rockets now working on trade with Asik and Lin for Rajon Rondo

Link? Joke? It says Rockets working..

Love Kevin (and he did Danny a solid before) but they can "work" till they turn blue. Stay away!!

This, actually.

I don't mind having the two, just not for our best player. If the Rockets can add more value in form of first round picks and now we are talking.

$8 million is not terrible for a Center who grabs rebounds with the best of them, defends well and is relatively young, meaning he can be part of your core moving forward.

And whatever we get from Lin, we get. At worst his $8 million expires with Asik in 2015. I don't mind Lin actually. A solid shot creator, can't play defense but can score and pass.

The value just isn't there, unless we get 2 first rounders (IMO) then I think it's a deal we can make. It's Rondo we are talking about here, we don't trade him unless it's for another all star or starter level talent and multiple picks.

I'm dumbfounded that people think Asik has a bad contract. This guy was a nightly double-double threat to go along with a block in his first full season as a starter. He's a legitimate 7 footer. They get overpaid all the time. Guys like Jordan and McGee get paid upwards of $10M. Asik gets paid $8.4M. How in the world does it make sense to call Asik's contract bad?
