Some perspective on Jared Sullinger, in case you still doubt him

All the naysayers can talk about Jared Sullinger until you actually see him play. No one knows how good he will be in the NBA

Except we did see him play.

Not with the starters - or even Jet, JG, AB, etc, etc...

Not against the likes of Dwight Howard either.

Besides, if we are gauging Jared Sullinger on his play vs DH, don't you think that is a bit pre-mature?

Basketball is a team sport. Dwight Howard, as great as he supposedly is - is without a TEAM - thanks to his own devices.

And I LOVE Jared's comments that he stated during an interview prior to the draft - about his back:

"My back is fine."

"I know how to play Basketball."

The kid will be fine.

You're obviously not quite getting the point, so I guess I will have to state the obvious: if you downplay Sullinger's SL performance because he hasn't played with a bunch of great players, then you have to allow for the fact that he hasn't played against great players either. These probably don't cancel each other either (and not in a way that's in his his favor).

Also, the point of the original post was "look, someone thought last year that Sullinger should be the #1 pick". Well, people thought at some point that Chris Taft will be the #1 pick in the draft, and we all saw how this worked out.

My point is that I'd rather evaluate him during the season - even give him a FULL season.

My point is that - for ME, at least - I'll wait until the season has progressed - and he has played with his team - before I pass judgement on him or not.

I believe he will impress all of us.

My point is that I can evaluate him at any point in time based on what's on the table -- and not on what someone wrote in an article a year ago, as the original point seems to suggest.

(and by the way, what's on the table so far suggests that he's got his work cut out for him, at the very least)
