I'll take a 2nd round exit over watching Marcus Banks and Gerald Green crank out losing streaks all year then having to debate Roy vs Foye in May...

TP for that quote, it is far more enjoyable to compete in the playoffs than going for 24 and 58 and watching your team get boned in the lottery.

BTW wouldn't a SL of Rajon Rondo, Tony Allen, Kevin Durant, Al Jefferson, and Kendrick Perkins be favorited to win the NBA title now. That is who we would have had picking 2nd in the lottery right now. Just to be ornery, I would add in trading Pierce and Al Jefferson to the Clippers for the rights to draft Blake Griffen - YEEEEEHAAAAAAWWWWWW!!!!
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I'm not overly optimistic about the title chances this year.

At ALL.

KG is reduced to a mere role player, albeit a $21M one.

I'm not high on JO, either.  Seems to be losing consistency when he plays, and isn't even able to play consistently.

I love watching Bass do his thing, since I love physical play inside, but the 1 on 1 iso offense isn't going very far, and defensively he has a ways to go.

Ray...wow.  He'd probably be the piece to move, but...wow.  Shooters are too good to have around, and he's the best ever.

Rondo...not many deals that I'd consider parting with Rondo.  He commands the court in a way few NBA players do (watching Lebron is similar in this way).

So basically, I think we're stuck.  Nobody's taking KG's $21 million, even for this year, unless they're blowing it up themselves, in which case they're more likely to try to get Rondo.  No deals for KG, and I think that would be sacrilege anyway.  KG is all heart, and the thing's green.

So I think this is the last hoorah, and let's just all enjoy watching these guys.  When they're clicking, it's beautiful basketball.

We can take this back up near the trade deadline.

We need a new starting four to go along with Rondo. Soon.

The ex allstars can still play NBA ball , but need to come off the bench with limited minutes these days.

These guys just don't have the gas left in their tanks to deal with the 25 year old studs.

Everybody gets old and sorry as I am about this ...they are getting old too.

So all this talk about how we are going to have major cap space is just a made up myth? Ive read that we are supposed to have 30 million in cap space this offseason. Dont see how they could be that off in their calculations.

Looking at the hoopshype site we will have $24 MM assuming the cap stays the same before cap holds and draft picks we should have 16-18 MM. If Bass opts out that becomes 20-22 MM, plus I bet the salary cap goes up by about 2 MM which it usually does. So a conservative estimate of our cap room is 16 with the optimistic ceiling being $24 MM.
hoopshype is at 34 million, not 24 million.  Rondo and Pierce alone combine for almost 28 million
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
