Vinnie - as the 3rd scoring option in OKC..playing out of position..he carried them a few games:

Looks like he missed a few games because of injuries or whatnot, but looks like he had a few scoring explosions there.

Since we've swept the Knicks today, I'll play this nice and ask everyone to act with tact. Please get your game together and try to refrain from rude or less classy behaviour. No calling people out. Thank you.

Rondo can have his hands full with Rose and Westbrook in a ECF/Finals matchup, but at least West is a great defender behind him.

I don't think Delonte West is that good of a defender. He is a very good help defender but he struggles against quick / explosive PGs and someone like Derrick Rose is a very problematic matchup for him.

Who doesn't struggle against those players, though?  I can't really think of anybody in the league who can consistently stay in front of the quicker PG's right now.  Honestly, it seems like the best defense against a very quick point guard is a very big center.
Well, it's relative to your position / peers and relative to his position Delonte West is not a great defender.

He struggles against quick explosive guards more so than the other top defensive players at his position.

Delonte West is a very good defender against PGs with average to below average quickness. Very good against big guards. And always supplies very good team defense. But he struggles against quick guards ... which is why he is not a high level defender at the position. Merely a good one (a plus defender overall).

In other words, Delonte defends some types of players at the PG spot very well and others not so well + always plays quality team defense.

For example, I'd be very happy putting him on someone like Chauncey Billups. Or the Jarrett Jack's of the world.

However against Chicago and as capable a scorer as Derrick Rose, I want Rondo's minutes tied to Rose's as much as possible + I want to keep Delonte West away from Rose whenever possible because Rose will frequently tear apart Delonte West whenever they are pitted against one another.

Fair enough; I can accept that.

TP, it's always fun talking basketball with you.

Delonte West is fast enough to guard anyone.  He's hurt and is playing at a much slower pace than usual.  He's said both after his wrist surgery and after twisting his ankle that he won't be at 100% and it is showing.  He's one of the best defensive guards in the league when healthy.
Jeff Green has been consistently getting better albeit slowly.  Our bench today, while still poor, was much better than the first three games.
A week of rest and practice should help with our health and getting they bench going.  Looking forward to an exciting series with Miami/Philly.

Jeff Green has been alright so far. A couple of easy buckets and rim outs going his way and we'd be very ecstatic with what he has done so far. The only problem with him so far is that he hasn't lived up to the label we have placed for what is supposed to be his role (offense from the bench). If he had been brought here for defensive purposes we would be very happy with what he has brought so far.

That said, I hope he gets better results offensively. In the last game I really liked the kind of looks he was getting around the basket, but as mentioned above, some rim outs that could have easily gone in for him. It happens. But more optimistic with him being more assertive and positioning. Didn't like his turnovers in the 4th. Seems like he has trouble with smaller players guarding him in the perimeter and him putting the ball on the floor.

Thank you kiorrick. TP.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Exactly, Green would be putting up way better numbers and look a lot better if he was starting and getting 38 minutes a game.  In the 2 with the c's when he started and got minutes he averaged 18 points 12 boards 4 assists.

Fans need to realize he's used to playing the whole game and finding his offense in the flow of the game.  Westbrook and Durant took the majority of the shots in OKC, coming in and  carrying an offense is completely alien to what he's been working on the majority of the year.  The point is,
Green's doing fine.  I'm not sure what people expect from a bench player who has no idea how to play off the bench.  Green is a piece for the future so the C's remain a playoff team the next few years as the older players diminish more and retire.
