Honestly,if you watched the Finals & wondered how did Ron Artest kill us, and still don't see? Then forget it,it's over your head. Lakers do what it takes, our GM should've notice what they were doing, quite frankly even what Byron Scott was doing?

Are you honestly saying that James Posey and defending Ron Artest was the difference in that series?  If so there are plenty of things that are over your head sir.  If we win game 7 Ron Artest is the goat in LA and people are screaming they never should have let Trevor Ariza leave.  If we have Perk in game 7 and we potentially win, are you still making this post?

Was Artest the difference in game 7?  Some people might say Yes.  Personally I think it was offensive rebounds and lack of front court depth due to Kendrick Perkins being out.  Ron Artest shooting brick after brick after brick in just about every other game in the series made a huge difference also.

I understand what you mean about spending money and doing what it takes to win, but you have to be smart about it.  Not signing James Posey was the smart move, we defended Wade, Lebron, and Kobe just as well without Posey.  If you want a GM thatll throw money around just for the sake of throwing money around then maybe you should give Isaiah Thomas call.  The Knicks have been in salary cap hell for the past decade and havent been able to rebuild b/c of Isaiah Thomas trying to 'do what it takes'

These are excellent points, in my opinion.

Ainge didn't wanna pay him for 4 years. If he could, he would've paid for two. The first two, not the latter two.

I love Po-Z, but at this point, I would want him back if he were part of a bigger deal.

I don't doubt he could perform better than last season, and his locker room effect is immeasurable. But for 'Sheed's contract, I think we could find a better long term solution.

The length of the original contract isn't that relevant in the discussion now no matter how people try to make it.  Two years, Danny Ainge wanted the flexibility to break up the team this past offseason.  He had it and chose not to exercise it.  With Posey here, he wouldn't have had that option.

The new window is two years from now, which fits Posey's contract well.

I wouldn't trade for Posey without getting an attractive asset as well.   I personally believe we could get Quincy Poindexter and flip him for Rudy Fernandez.  If that's the case, I'd be open to acquiring him, but not in a straight up swap.  We have to get value for taking that contract.

He did leave for the money, kinda what we thought would happen when he opted out of his option. If New Orleans had blew him away with an offer, I'd understand, but a year only as the difference? Then turn around and waste our time watching Giddens & Walker? After watching Ron duplicate what Posey did for us in the Finals, Da ain't getting the hint. Even Paul has to hint to DA. TA wanted a 3rd year, right? This is not simply about keeping Posey, but about replacing him. I can care less what he's doing for New Orleans. I care about keeping a 13 point lead. We all know Posey has two rings. Gee,I wonder what the Lakers did to keep Lamar Odom?

Did you watch the Celts play NO this year? Scal was at least as good as Posey if not better. Everyone who attacked Danny for not giving Posey a four year deal would be killing Ainge for overpaying for Posey by now.

Once again, I can care less what he's doing for New Orleans. I don't get mad at Ray about 0-13,Posey would've helped kept and build on that lead. Ask Paul Pierce his opinion on it. I'd be shocked if James was still in NO,knowing "Big Game James" can lead their 2nd unit. New Orleans didn't run our system,so save it telling me of his numbers there.

Not as a 6th man.

I'd be okay with him in the Scal/Finley type roll at the PF/SF spots. In other words as our 9th or 10th man. I'd take his contract back now if doing so facilitated a trade to get the 6th man we need.

In terms of "admitting mistake" - I think it'd be the opposite - we didn't sign Posey, so we'd have the ability to either blow it up, or take in a bad contract to get talent (like Posey's bad contract for example.)
