When I said imporved his stock, I'm not talking about a "Trevor Ariza" improvement. Nate has always been a player who can come off the bench and give you 20 points on any given night. The guy can score. He came into a new situation in Boston, adjusted to a new style of play and was effective. Yes, it took him longer than expected but he proved that he could play defense (ask Jameer Nelson) and play unselfishly. From the way we used him in the playoffs, he doesn't deserve 4 mil, but he showed he is more versatile than people thought. I fully expect him to play bigger minutes with a full offseason with the Celtics and be worth 4 mil.

Tony has been a Celtic for 6 years in a row. How is he not a bird exception player?
He is, I fell asleep on this one.

He has been a UFA once, when the Celtics refused to extend a qualifying offer, but he never signed for another team, so this still makes him eligible as a Bird exception player, I think.
