I don't know. He is a step behind on almost everything. Even in tonight's game he was picking up a lot of fouls trying to react after someone got the step on him. Fortunately, the refs didn't call the last couple fouls on him or he would have been gone early in the 4th. That one crucial play where he held Pau in place so that Rondo could get an uncontested layup was huge.

I don't question his heart or desire to win, but he has not inspired enough confidence these entire playoffs in terms of his physical abilities.

How can you not say he played good in the earlier series? We would not have beat Orlando or Cleveland if he through together an entire series like these first two games.

If the shot rumor is true, can he have another shot now? I dont want him to do it if it will cause long term health problems, but dont really understand that rumor. Can you elaborate?

I wondered the same thing and apparently a person would be able to get another shot but it wouldn't be good for you long term, if the rumor is true of course. This was mentioned on one of the many radio programs I listened to preparing for the Finals, though I don't know the exact source

He made a big basket in the 4th quarter and he grabbed some big rebounds late in the game.

Really the refs took KG out of this game.

Refs took Kobe out too.

Game 1, it was Ray taken out.

I feel good about what KG is doing offensively but I want to see more out of him on the defensive end of the floor and on the glass. He needs to do a better job containing Pau Gasol in one-on-one situations and better overall team defense.

This series is about rebounds.

KG MUST rebound. Five a game won't do it. Especially if four of those are uncontested defensive rebounds.

We need him battling Gasol and Bynum and winning those battles. Gotta get the 50-50 rebounds. Not just the easy ones.

It's true - the fouls didn't help him tonight.

But he's looked mostly lost for two games now. Not mediocre. LOST.

That must change in Boston.

KG has to have at least 1-2 decent games for us to hang # 18. He just does not look confident out there at all. I'm not sure what will happen but I'm praying he shows up in game 3 and plays DECENTLY..

Re-watching the fourth quarter on NBATV...

To be fair, KG actually made a number of big plays down the stretch. Changing shots, grabbing a couple boards, setting a huge screen for a Rondo layup, making a turnaround. If he plays like this come Tuesday, he'll be fine.

KG is just a bit out of rhythm with the foul troubles. But I liked what he gave us today. As far as rebounds, well he's doing quite enough just getting a hand in there with Gasol and Bynum around. Our wings need to do a better job going after rebounds and helping out. If you're going to rely on our bigs just out rebounding theirs, then you're up for a very long night.

Pierce, 4 in 40 minutes. Ray 3 in 44 minutes... that's more telling if anything.

He's had a lot to do with his own foul trouble with some really dumb fouls early in these games.  KG needs to grab more than 4 boards in Game 3.  He seems to only go up with 1 hand now when crashing the boards, especially on the offensive end trying to tip everything rather than grabbing the basketball. I'm not seeing the same guy I saw in the Cleveland series and I thought tonight he would have had a fire lit under his ass.

He'll play well he can still knock down his jumpers and get somewhere around 12-18 pts a game so he'll be ok its a confidence thing right now i wouldnt worry about him since hes coming back to Boston.

Doc needs to establish him early and run some plays for him in the 1st quarter just to get him going.

Paul Pierce and Rondo can get it going whenever they want establish Ray and KG in the 1st quarter so they can have big games throughout and put pressure on Gasol and make him play some D.

BTW i know Doc said he hates playing Sheed and Perkins together cause they're slow but hey Bynum and Gasol are not that fast and Sheed can defend Gasol anyday of the week.

I sure hope he does.  I don't know if for the first three quarters he was bad because he was in foul trouble or in foul trouble because he was bad.  He made some shots and played good D in the 4th, but other than that he was pretty awful.  I was sitting at home calling for Sheed to play more, but I guess his back was giving him some problems.  After the first 3 quarters I was pulling to only have KG play when Odom's in the game since at that point he was the only player he could successfully shut down.

I feel there's something going on with KG physically that he is quietly working through...since about the middle of the Magic series he hasn't been his usual self.

  • KG is da Man
I just think it's time to realize this is who KG is now.  Tonight he was abused on the boards most of the game, not into the game defensively or offensively.  Rasheed was the better option tonight.  There's a rumor that KG got a shot in his knee before the Cleveland series which is why he played so well and now he's back to the guy we saw all season long.  It was frustrating watching him play tonight

Yea, we really have to boost KG's confidence when he comes back to Boston. He can still be a very good player, and hopefully we'll see that from Tuesday onwards.
He played pretty bad for most of the game but I think it's more a confidence thing than anything. Once he feeds off that Celtic crowd energy he'll feel it.

Anything is possible!!!
