GF I apologize if you think I've wronged you personally. I may have ranted on sheed but I had no idea anyone would take it that personally. So mo offense to you personally buddy (genuinely). So once again if I've upset you I'm sorry. I want no back and forth quarrel.

The biggest reason to be against Sheed is he did not work hard on his conditioning during the offseason.

When you're an older player, you have to work extra hard on your body and condition the body to play an 82 game NBA schedule plus postseason.

CH - No need to apologize. I am disappointed that Sheed's contributions this Post Season have been minimal, too.

Ideally, when KG was losing steam last night, Sheed would've stepped in and brought us home.

That didn't happen, unfortunately. It may yet still happen - we have more games to play.

And that is the part that is baffling to me. I remember PJ Brown, at 39 years of age, playing like a Spring Chicken for us back in 2007-2008.

Man - I Really Miss PJ.

Wallace makes the Vin Baker signing seem great.

I have to say I don't even hate him I just want to make sure that danny moves him in the offseason for the best deal he can get.  'Sheed could have been a difference maker for our team like when Walton signed, instead he is looking like Danny's worst signing.

Yeah, I don't hate the guy and I think Danny did the right thing in signing him because he was widely considered the best guy available for what the Celtics were looking for. That said, there were enough signs out there that something like what occurred this year would occur this year.

Rasheed showed obvious signs of decline, it's just talent evaluators across the country attributed it to poor coaching and bad chemistry in the locker room without ever thinking that one of the possibilities of the reasons for bad chemistry was Rasheed himself. I'm not sure what will come out from the Celtics regarding problems in the locker room but my guess is that there has been some and that Rasheed was part of them.

Regardless, Danny made a HUGE mistake giving him a three year deal and now will have to probably take pennies on the dollar this off season to dump Rasheed's aging body and game and his really bad two years left on that contract. Maybe if Nellie retires in Golden State someone out there would look at a Rasheed and Tony Allen sign and trade for Biedrins as a good deal to rid themselves of long term money

I agree that it was the deal to make and should have helped the C's.  The 3 years is a killer though.  Lets hope LBrown is still interested.

In 07/08 we had Posey,PJ Brown,House,Powe, and Baby on the bench. Since then the bench has been downgraded every year. Ainge has not got the job done. Rasheed is the worse signing to date. Six million dollars a year for three years that contributes nothing.

All this for a guy who played only 13 minutes, and didn't do much to hurt the team (or help the team)

Where is the thread about Pierce's 4 turnovers, 5-17 shooting, and allowing Lebron to gain confidence in this shoulder?

Did Pierce ever give Lebron a hard foul?  (I know Wallace did)

If Pierce played better, the Celtics win.

If Wallace played better, the Celtics probably still lose.

That is completely true and I one hundred percent agree with you Rahseed didn't do anything to lose us the ame last night, but he didn't do much to help us win other then the hard foul on LeBron.

Rasheed has been lackluster all year, and with what Paul Pierce has done for this team over his career, there is no way in hell there should be a thread like this about Pierce.

I am only talking about the reactionary aspect of this thread.  Celtics lose.  Wallace did little.  5 pages on why Wallace isn't doing.

That seems like a lot of talk on a player that had little to do with the loss.

I agree this thread is way too reactionary for me. It restates the obvious - Rasheed has been a disappointment. Been there done that.

Lets go get game 2! Go Celtics!!

Sheed still has skills. His ineffectiveness is rooted in his lack of commitment to conditioning. I bet a lot of celticsblog posters are in better shape than the Sheedster. If there was only a way to retroactively put a fatty clause in his contract like we did with Baby. Seriously, KG needs to take on part of the responsibility to whip Sheed into shape as KG was the major reason he came here...

Hate is a strong word, at least for a current Celtics player in the middle of a playoff run.

I'm not ready to join any such club, but I agree with a lot of the legitimate criticism of his uninspired play.  Look no further than the other night in the middle of the Cavs big 2nd half run.  He had a rebound in his hands only to lazily hold it away from his body and allow Sideshow to poke it away leading to a 2nd chance basket.

I don't think I need to hate on Sheed to express my dislike of the way he has performed in this series through one game.  He needs to start doing the little things for us when coming off the bench or the likes of Hickson and Sideshow are going to kill us with timely hustle.

What's that US military slang abbreviation that they use describing soldiers that have checked out early for retirement but are still on active duty?

That's Rasheed Wallace
Finally figured out the abbreviation I was thinking of that fit Sheed to a tee.

Sheed went R.O.A.D.

Retired On Active Duty
