it feels like people who complain about rasheed didn't watch him play in detroit.  i never saw anything different that he did then, other than better rebounding in his first or 2nd year, than I'm seeing with the C's.

all this complaining about him being "lazy" and "not caring", this is how he played in detroit.  and personally, I think it has more to do with him not wanting to get T'd up.  dude has a bit of an anger streak, in case you didn't notice.

I guess if you think 2 points and one rebound with a lot of lazy defense in 20 minutes is bad, then yes, this is a bust. And it will be worse next year and the year after.
just 1 more year.  he's an expiring deal after that and unless he improves, you'll probably see Danny move him and KG for young talent and draft picks to a contender so that he can start rebuilding sooner rather than later.

They did well today because they had Marquis back to facilitate them.  Any time Rasheed got the ball, he chucked up a brick, per usual.  2 points and one rebound in twenty minutes??  What is the positive with this guy anymore?  How many more T's till hes suspended?

Yes ... he can't even get his hands up on defense, move his feet to block the lane, or stop shooting 3-point bricks and play the post. Sorry, but Sheed is a waste of money at this point, and his apathetic attitude is contagious.

i voted too early to tell.  i think it was the right signing at the time, but it has been disappointing thus far.  i think sheed will help this team more in the post season, but it is purely speculation at this point.  i have to see how he does the remainder of the season, especially the postseason, b4 i am willing to call it a bust.

What you said.  I never wanted this clown on our team.  He coasted back when he was good and the last few years he's been bad and coasting.  I have to agree that Ainge's free agent signings have been pretty bad.  He got lucky with Posey, and PJ was a nice help, but most other moves have been aweful to average.  The fact that he chose Patrick O'Bryant over Chris Andersen says it all.

Rasheed only had value for a contender. Right now the Celtics aren't playing like contenders.

It was the right move, we needed to get him or McDyess for me to be happy this offseason.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
the problem i have with 'sheed is that it looks like his offense is "forced."  seems like he takes bad shots at bad times.

charles barkley once said in an interview that "the older a guy gets that farther away from the hoop he stays..."  THAT'S the problem I have with his game - he stands outside, jacking up bad shots and then when you don't get back on defense (following long rebounds) it just creates havoc.

it's like he's reading "The Antoine Walker Manual For How To Play Stupid Basketball" or something of the sort...
"It was easier to know it than to explain why I know it."

To me, Rasheed's lazy attitude is spreading thru the team like a wild fire.  I would play SWilliams ahead of Sheed 100%.  Some might disagree, but I just think that the 2010 version of Rasheed Wallace is way past his prime and he is getting minutes on behalf of what he's done in the past - not recent past by the way.

Yes, his is a bust.  I think McDyes would have been a better fit.

and oh, btw - Doc shouldn't allow Sheed taking 3pointers unless he can make them at a 40% rate in practice.   >:(

Oh, and I just want to say that Danny's signings have truly blown for the last 3 years.

-PJ Brown's contributions were completely overblown. I always felt he was getting more praise than he deserved, and I just checked up on his stats which would seem to corroborate my impression.

-Sam Cassell was guilty of being a chucker. He was taking minutes from Eddie House, who was having a great year, so that sucked.

-Stephon Marbury... do I really need to even comment???

-Sheed has sucked, as I just talked about.

-Marquis has been ok, but he's been injured most of the season so who even knows.

-Mikki Moore: in his own words, "Sometimes in the morning, I wake up and I already have a foul". I'm pretty sure he had more fouls than points.

-Patrick O'Bryant was god awful.

There's a trend here.

you conveniently forget to mention Eddie House and James Posey.....and....

PJ Brown needs to be removed from that list.  You can read through all his stats and give me every reason in the world why hes over blown, but will never take away the fact that without his ability to hit a free throw line jumpshot, we might not have made it through Cleveland.  You cant overblow that.  I also will never forget his dunk in Kobes face in the finals, and lastly this team has been missing a hard nosed big man off the bench whos willing to get his hands dirty by doing stuff like this......

Ok, so Eddie and Posey were legit. That's still a lot of busts mixed in with the good players.

And as far as PJ Brown is concerned, every minute he took away from Leon Powe that season was a waste. Leon was BEASTING the entire season. If Leon had gotten more playing time instead of PJ, then PJ probably never would've had to make that big shot in the first place.

Every time the ball was anywhere NEAR Leon, I just knew he'd rebound it and somehow get an and-1.

Cleveland has a player named Zydrunas Illgauskas, hes over 7' tall, and has a very high release.  Leon Powe is 6'9" with platform shoes on.  PJ Brown is a lanky 6'11".  We needed PJ in that series.  Did you read my post?  Every minute he took away from Leon was a waste? PJ arguably hit the game 7 clinching shot against Cleveland?!?!  Are you seriously gonna tell me Leon would have made that shot?  Wow What a waste that was as you called PJs minutes.

If you think Leon is better than PJ thats fine, everyones entitled to have an opinion, in fact I agree that Leon in 2007 was a better payer than PJ Brown, but PJ Brown was a very useful commodity off the bench in the Cleveland series, and helped us take care of mismatches that Leon could not.  PJ Brown was NOT a bust.  He gave more positives to this team than negatives for a minimum salary deal.

his defensive rotations have been absolutely horrible -- lay-up after lay-up.

Thank you

I can't tell you how many times I have screamed at the TV where is the underneath switch or rotation to help out after someone gets by on a high pick and roll

His help defense this year has been atrocious but all I hear from people when I discuss it with them(real life not here) is that Sheed is a great defensive addition

Not only has his help defense been poor and his rotations weak but his one on one post defense has been bad as well as often his man is getting the ball in his comfort zone and Sheed is fouling to prevent a dunk or layup because he can't block the shot anymore

And that doesn't even take in consideration his abysmal defensive rebounding

Here's a list of players with a higher defensive rebounding rate than Rasheed Wallace:

Mike Miller
Carlos Delfino
Austin Daye
James Posey
Terrence Williams
Josh Boone
Jamario Moon
Juwan Howard - who is 2 years older than Sheed
Matt Barnes

That, my friends, is just ridiculous
