In the Patriots game last weekend, Tom Brady made a play under pressure where he moved out of the pocket, ran right, and threw the ball over the middle about 15 yards to a running receiver crossing the middle.  Brady did not have his feet planted and was throwing awkwardly, but instinctively.  I thought at the time that Brady's physical instincts are beginning to align with his abilities again.  It is critical off of an injury that you either regain this alignment (i.e. your body once again can do what your instincts expect it to do) or you adjust -- realizing that the old instincts don't apply to the 'new' body.

I've been thinking about this as applied to KG especially with regard to his finishing alley-oops -- which seems to be a half-beat off.  I think his instincts tell him he can do something that his body is not yet able to do.  But, he seems to be getting it back and I think he'll be able to finish what his instincts are starting before long.

I did gasp a little as he went down on that play, but he got up and got down the court quick enough to be in on the play at the defensive end within seconds.   He looks pretty good to me.

Not really I thought it was a perfect pass and I was happy to see KG throw it down.  Not bad for 60%.

TP Double B. I can't help but laugh every time I see KG do something really athletic and think about that ridiculous 60% comment.
