Not a fan of Swift as a 4th big, maybe a 6th as a project or 5th with a good 4th but not as a replacement for Davis. I tend to agree with Joe Smith as the ideal. I'd prefer Powe as a 15th man for the first half of the season to see if he can come back, he'd be a great weapon come playoff time.

I'm still hopeful and expecting Davis to return.
Go Celtics.

Assuming we move Scalabrine - currently our fourth big - and are planning to keep five on the team, I am in favor of adding a rotation big and a project big. One each, in order:

Rotation - Nesterovic, Smith, Oberto
Projects - Williams, Swift, Diogu

Quick note on Williams. He has proven two things in this league; He is a widebody (6'9" 250) and he can rebound (17.5 rebound rate, 12 per 40 last season). Those are valuable skills. If Cliff Ray can teach him the same hook shot and 12' he has shown Perk and Davis he will be a very productive backup for a very long time.
"All I have to know is, he's my coach, and I follow his lead. He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." - Teddy Bruschi
