I have got to say that I didn't see anything wrong with the way Kobe celebrated. The man was happy. Everything that occurred way back when the whole Shaq/Kobe/Phil drama was going on about 6-7 years ago, when the Lakers had to choose whether to keep Shaq or Kobe as the centerpiece, to which they decided to keep Bryant, that move was made for what happened just a few nights ago by LA winning the championship. I am not a Laker fan or mild supporter by any means. In addition, I do not like Kobe's persona as well. But I can give credit where credit is due. He has his "Batman" championship, he didn't throw anyone under the bus this season, acted like a true captain/leader. He was more supportive of his teammates, got them more involved offensively, rather than feeling he, himself, had to be a constant gunner. In regard to his actions after the final game ended, as I said, he was just happy. KG/Pierce/Allen, most notably KG, had monkies on their backs for having been in the league for so long & not having any championships to show for it. When KG ran and kissed midcourt, screamed "Anything's possible!!" We here at the blog didn't say "Just a bit over the top..." or when he stole the classic line from "Rocky II" of "besides my kid being born, this is the greatest day of my life."..nobody said, "Now he's stealing lines...how original" as many people are saying "Kobe just wanted to copy Jordan."
Kobe's monkey was trying to get a championship where he was the sole centerpiece on the team. It was HIS team. In order for him to get the monkey off his back, he had to win the championship...and he did. All the mental stress that must've brought him from people saying "He had Shaq during the first 3."...that was all released. I don't think he overacted at all. That was years worth of frustration, struggle, propaganda getting spread around being released.
