How can you say that the MVP of last years playoffs is not a top 10 player in the league??

While I do agree Paul is a top 10 player in the league (Certainly not top 5)...do you think Chauncey Billups and Tony Parker are top 10 players in the league?

For one, that idiot Hollinger says that Perk is our only shot blocker and must stay out of foul trouble.  Okay, while this is true, what about Dwight Howard?  Aren't the Magic in big trouble if he gets into foul trouble?  Hollinger never even mentions that as if it's a forgone conclussion that the refs are going to be watching Perk extra close and not Howard.  Sadly that may be true, but as I recall, that last game we lost in Orlando was done with Howard in foul trouble and they just happened to hit a slew of 3's.

Hollinger is not an idiot. Perk is much more liable to get into foul trouble than Howard. Also, the Magic have far more front-court depth than the Celtics have.

Fact is, if we put Howard in foul trouble and squeeze away those 3's, we win going away.  Just stupid predictions that don't take stuff like that into consideration are ridiculous.  Means nothing.  It's hard to imagine getting paid for what these guys do.

I'm sure other teams haven't thought to do this. Yet, somehow the Magic still won 60 games and pretty easily dispatched a 76ers team that is probably better than the Bulls. Big Ifs.

By the way, I assume that we all know that any prediction is nothing but "ifs".  Thus, why they are pretty pointless.

For example, Paul Pierce not top 5 player in the league and not a HOF player.
Ummm....he's not a top 5 player in the league.  He's not even the best player on his own team.  HOF definitely.  One of the top 5 at his position definitely.
I have to agree on all points, though I'm up in the air on the best player on the team part.

When KG is healthy he's in the discussion for top 10 best players in the league.  Pierce can't say that.

The great thing about the Big 3, though, is each of the Big 3 don't have to be the best player on their team on any given night for us to win - and all 3 of them have been on teams where they always had to be the best player every night or their team would lose.

Sometimes KG is our best player, sometimes Pierce is, sometimes Ray is.  Every once in a while (or more than that nowadays) our best is Rondo.  Again, that's what makes our team great.

Still, overall, KG is our best player when he's healthy.

Being a Finals MVP means that you were the best player on the winning team over the course of 4-7 games.  You don't need to be a top 10 player to accomplish this feat.  Pierce is an excellent player but is past his prime.
