Could Gabe Pruitt become the next Eddie House?

I was hoping Doc would of tried Pruitt at the 2g with Rondo at the pg some aganist the Jazz last night to see if it would work.I feel Pruitt could play the 2g in some instances.

i think house is a little better shooter but ofcourse has a tougher time getting that shot off(even with the quickest release out there) cuz of his height. but gabe would probably be the better player if he only got the experience.
  i think doc is handling it the right way though. eddie has huge onions and has hit the big shots when they counted. eddie's attitude does a  lot for the c's confidence.he not only wants to take the big shot, he's  drooling to take it.

And guess what he can actually get the ball over the mid court line

House is most effective playing with the big three or if you need clutch shooting basically

Our second line offense has suked thus far and a big blame has to go to eddie house for not making it easier for the other players to get baskets.  Give pruitt more run

I am a big Pruitt fan, but get real! You're saying Gabe is better than House based on his 58 minutes total this year?! He has shot 35% from the floor. He has more turnovers (5) than assists (3). Where are you pulling your decision from?! The D league last year?!

As far as the House bringing the ball up the floor, that is absolutely ridiculous. He has a 2-1 assist to turnover ratio which is second on the team. One game in Detroit where he got pressured and people are trying to make a career assessment of it. He is a much better handler this year and that is why you don't see TA or Ray while out there bringing it up much anymore. Give this wrong label a rest people!

House's handle is okay. I mean he can't break good pressure with the dribble but he can still pass it off to a 2 or 3. I do agree this is mountain made out of molehill.

It's not a wrong label EJ, and it doesn't make him a bad ball player. Not many guys can deal with full court pressure well, its why rondo's so effective.

I love eddie, but his ball handling skills are below average at best.

right, and im not calling for eddie to lose minutes, he's doing a fine job and his sub par handling rarley comes into play against the other teams bench, and is far out weighed by his other skills. But to say he's a good ball handler or even average against the press is incorrect.

What is correct is that being a bad ball handler is not the end all for a bench SG playing the PG role, but people are correct when they call eddie's ball handiling a weakness was all i was pointing out about that post.

As for pruitt, I'd like to see him more, but i like our rotation at the moment overall.

gabe can be a better player than house. he's a better pg/sg because of his height and athletic ability. he can shoot pretty well and has good ball handling skills. the kid just needs a chance to play for longer stretches of time.

I'm not denying I'm not a House or Allen fan, and it's basically for the same reason: both are chokers.

House has a history of being unclutch.  He hit ONE three that mattered in the Finals, but was conspicously absent the rest of the playoffs.  He's not a go-to guy.  And I won't even talk about TA when it comes to that...

But seriously, Pruitt is another in this mold.  He hasn't shown he can "take over" when it counts.  This is something we KNOW Cassell can do.  We saw it in Pierce and hell even Joe Johnson back in the day.

Pruitt and House don't have it, sorry.  But I digress..

Crownsy said it well. The facts actually show you are just making stuff up to prove your wrong point. He IS clutch. As far as being absent in the playoffs, that was because Doc had some crazy notion that Sam I Was somehow deserved the guys minutes. Once he got the opportunity to come in he threw down the results Crownsy mentioned. Making overblown statements always comes back at some point or other.

Okay, that made made me laugh out load. Yeah, I do seem to remember that "conspicuous absence," and I think it may have had something to do with him not being on the court!!! So he gets benched, and instead of complaining about it, works even harder and stays involved in the games mentally, and then when he gets his chance he takes advantage of it by hustling, playing good defense, and hitting a number of clutch shots. He certainly has a lot of flaws in his game, but how can you hate a guy who makes up for his deficiencies with heart!
