With Adams getting extended and Bame being traded to Magic, figured it was time to create the offseason thread.

Would not have guessed he had this much value

4 First Round, unprotected picks for Bane is how a GM gets fired and a team goes into purgatory for a decade. Nets Part 2.

These are the kinds of moves you reserve for a Giannis-type talent. Mikal Bridges and Bane? Idk

That is a great trade for Orlando.

I don't see the 4 1st round picks as excessive because they are not giving up any talent in the deal. KCP is a negative asset after the season he just had while on the contract he is on. He would have cost 1-2 firsts just to dump him. Neither KCP or C Anthony are significant parts of the team. They just picked up a near All-Star caliber SG without giving up any of their key players.

Orlando

G: Suggs, C Joseph
G: D Bane, G Harris
F: F Wagner, A Black
F: Banchero, J Isaac, T Da Silva
C: W Carter Jr, Mo Wagner, G Bitadze

Others: Jett Howard, C Houstan

That team is going to be a top 4-5 seed in the East next year.

I'd love to see them upgrade the offensive capabilities of the bench players on the perimeter. C Joseph, G Harris, A Black are too limited as a trio. You can carry one of those guys. Not all 3.

I agree.  Chances are none of the picks end up in the lottery and the pick swap doesn't happen.  They are getting a near All-Star SG who is a great volume 3pt shooter which they dearly need and he's on a reasonable contract.

East Rankings

* Top Teams = Indiana, Cleveland
* 2nd Tier Teams = Orlando, New York, maybe Philly
* Rest of Playoffs = Boston, Milwaukee, Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago or Toronto
* Lottery = Miami, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Washington

I don't see 3 or 4 teams being better than them in the East next season.  Assuming health, I think they'll make a big jump.

West Rankings

* Top Teams = OKC, Dallas
* 2nd Tier = Denver, LA Clippers, Minnesota, Golden State
* Rest of Playoffs = LA Lakers, Houston, San Antonio, Memphis
* Decent but ouside playoffs = Phoenix, Sacramento, New Orleans, Portland
* High lotto = Utah

Hmm ... I thought Memphis would be outside the top 10 after that D Bane trade. I think Memphis just about hang in there. Phoenix look the main threat but it also looks like they will wreck their team by trading Durant and get much worse.

Also interesting that the West has only 1 truly bad team in Utah. The rest of the teams that are outside the playoffs are not far away from making a playoff push.
