Thought I had to bump this as the current situation is proving my initial view.
Last night the Celtics overcame a 0-1 deficit, Smart out with injury, Brown and Timelord working through injuries and some of the worst officiating seen in a Celtic game in quite some time. The officials were so bad Stan Van Gundy called out the refs publicly, something the NBA must have hated. And the team beat the defending champs in a wire to wire blowout.
Yet here we are today and all the discussion is about Derrick White's poor play(I thought he shot poorly but played very well otherwise), how bad the White trade was, and 5 current event things.
Maybe, I was wrong initially. Maybe, I don't understand. I've talked to my 3 sons and two friends last night and today and the talk about the game was positive, hopeful, excited, and fun to have. We did b!tch about the refs and how the NBA favors Giannis.
But on this site, you would think Derrick White gave away a game 2 win with terrible turnovers, awful defense, terrible shooting and missing a game tying shot in an iso play where he emailed the final shot after the buzzer sounded, by the reaction to the game by so many.
I think there is a time to be negative, but now is not it. Not after winning the most important game of the year by blowing out the defending champs. Not during an amazing end of season surge and great playoff run thus far.
