JB certainly does not own the record for youngest player with a triple-double...  Does Jaylen even have a single triple-double to his name dating back to college?

Triple doubles are pretty meaningless.   Russell Westbrook is the all-time leader.  What does that tell us about his quality as opposed to players below him on the list?

What are your trade dreams like Ozgod? We trade Juancho for Kris Dunn?

I hear that.  Giddey is a good player but triple doubles are not the most important stats that's for sure.

You'd pretty much have to trade Brown for both SGA and Giddey, even with SGA's shooting decline this year.  But that is also why OKC would never make that trade.  You might even have to trade SGA for Brown straight up as SGA has out performed Brown at every age.  Even this poor shooting season, his totals are better across the board than Brown's season 4 at the same age of 23.

I just don't know why a rebuilding team like OKC would want to make that sort of trade.  Also, I'm not sure when SGA can actually be traded anyway as he signed his rookie extension over the summer.

I mean, try being SGA this season.... he's Option 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the youngest team in the NBA that was literally designed to lose. Defenses are focusing on him, and yet they're competing. So i think grinding on %s misses the big picture.

You gotta keep in mind Giddey's numbers are inflated due to playing on a mediocre (cough) team.

Having said that - as a rookie, he's averaging a really nice number of assists to go with his rebounds and points.

A spread like that is impressive.

Anyone actually watch a lot of his games?

What's his ceiling? Poor man's Kidd? Better?

Remember when a lot of us were hoping that Wagner or Giddey would fall?

The good news:  I guess many of us are okay at projecting talent.  Time to boot Austin Ainge and Brad Stevens, and put Triboy in charge.  Haha.

The bad news:  We're really bad at projecting where NBA teams will slot that talent.  They got picked way before where most of us were hoping.

Lot of talk about how Jaylen's assists are hurt by being on a bad team. Doesn't seem to be bothering Giddey.

Meanwhile, I'm a little surprised this thread has legs. There is absolutely no chance the Thunder is trading both SGA and Giddey for Brown.

For some reason this thread has me thinking about whether I'd trade Larry Bird for two Scottie Pippens.

Not a good trade sentimentality wise, but Parish, Mchale, Ainge, DJ and two Pippens could have done serious damage...

Maybe but I doubt that team wins any chips.  McHale and the others benefited purely from Bird's presence.  That non-bird team would be like the 2004 Pistons (who won a chip, but sort of an anomaly in the grand scheme).

Man, a team with 2 Pippens would be awesome. Plus Parish and McHale in the paint. And with DJ and Ainge.

That team would've destroyed all who came before it.

People forget how good Pippen was. Pippen had seven all-NBA selections, including 3 first-team and two second team. If you had two of the top five players in the NBA for 3 years and two top-10 players another two years, you ought to do pretty well. He had a big pile of all-NBA defense selections as well.

(In no way do I think SGA and Giddey are going to reach Pippen’s level.)
