If the Celtics can get a lottery pick for Romeo, trading him is a no brainer but I don't feel like he has that value anymore.
Where is this coming from, I do not think you could get a lottery pick for him. You would be lucky to get a late first rounder.
Many fans were saying the same thing about Timelord and Terry Rozier after their first two seasons.
I don't think this was the case. Timelord had demonstrated out of this world athletic ability. Rozier could play. Romeo has show some defensive chops though he looked decent yesterday.
Grant has shown us this, yesterday:
https://fb.watch/5wEL1XI3MD/He made it so all is good, but team mates will let you have it in the locker room after this one.
The fact that some of our guys getting playing time didn't put up even better numbers against the worst team in the NBA that was not playing defense means we have some changes to make. Our bench guys do not deserve to run it back. Maybe our starters do, but some of these bench guys need moved and some veterans with actual skill sets to fill roles would help. We have in the past when for versatile guys who can play or management things they can play multiple positions. Other teams have guys with defined skill sets and roles. Our bench shooters like Carsen can't always reliably shoot.
Ainge needs skilled bench and to quit drafting small guys at their positions. For Crimmy's sake Ainge was a big guard back in the day at 6'5". Enough of this 6-1 and under guys. There are less Tiny Archibalds and Isiah Thomases than Carsen Edwards Types. Less Draymonds in this world than Grant Williams or Gerschons. For a smaller guy to be better then they have to exponentially quicker which a lot of our small guys are not.
Grant Williams and Carsen Edwards also look like bad picks in retrospect. Why did we give up Matisse Thybulle for those 2 stiffs?
Anyways it is easy to point at Danny's misses. I think his bigger failure was not pulling the trigger on trades for those picks. Imagine if we have a Paul George on this team to complement Tatum and Brown instead of the questionable bench players and wasted 1st round picks that we made?
Ainge has had some bad choices and he has some good ones. Matisse would have looked good in green. So would Desmond Bane. But it is in the past. The 2019 draft is a big part of our poor bench. It is not just the draft picks but our two ways taking up space on the bench. But hey they are good guys.
