Unless the voters of All-League Teams are huge Tatum fans I don't see him making any of the three teams this year.

Which six forwards make it?
LeBron, AD, Kawhi, Durant and Giannis are the obvious choices with guys like Middleton, Butler and George being worthy candidates for the sixth spot over Tatum (with Zion, Simmons, Randle, etc being contenders as well).
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

No he isn't.

He does not deserve it. Bad shot selection...Plays iso all the time.

JB deserved it more tbh but I'm happy if none of them get it.

I hope Tatum does make All NBA. I think he's earned it and I like seeing guys on my favorite team getting rewarded.

I have to admit Celticsblog is the only website that sees their own player making an All NBA team as a bad thing. All the other sports websites even Celtics sties would be ecstatic to see a player who represents their team achieve a huge accomplishment, but not Celticsblog. I know the year has been inconsistent to say the least but is it too much to be happy if he makes it?

You are leaving out a lot of factors with this argument. Of course on the surface you want your home team players to be rewarded for their achievements. But, there is almost no way he would make it if AD and/or Durant had stayed healthy. That, along with the fact that the Cs are firmly mediocre this season, isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for Tatum as a player.

Obviously I would be fully cheering him on if his contract wasn't tied to all or nothing 25%/30%, but that extra $6M/yr that Tatum will possibly be getting - that he doesn't [currently] deserve - may very well limit what the Cs can do in terms of building up their roster in the future.

That extra money is for Danny to handle, Tatum or Brown gets in then fine that means they're recognized as good as players by the media. There's plenty of players who are on bad teams that make the All NBA anyway it's nothing new.

That’s not how it works at all. Also odd to root against your players getting recognition

1st
Kawhi
Giannis

2nd
Lebron
Zion

3rd
Butler (still a chance make 2nd if Lebron misses too many games)
Tatum/George/Randle

Voters are not going to vote for players that have played less than 70% of total games (50.4 games) to All-NBA (LaMelo would’ve been the runaway ROY if the # of games weren’t taken into consideration), which is what AD and Durant are on pace for. The first 5 are locks barring injury and I think the last 20 games will determine who wins the 6th All-NBA spot between Tatum, George, and Randle.

I don't believe Tatum will ever be the player to lead us to regular championship contention (Brown either).

What both of them need is what Paul Pierce needed to mature and become a better all-around player and focused competitor.
Without Kevin Garnett, Pierce never wins a title - probably never makes the finals.

This team will need a Kevin Garnett type player to get them over the top.
I realize Danny has tried to acquire that player, but it has not worked out so far.
