I hope he takes away all the smoke that Brad is having so he doesn't get parked in the corner in favour of legends like Brad Wannamaker on offence.
This drove me nuts yesterday. Edwards, Wanamaker, a horribly struggling Smart, Semi, Kanter and Timelord were all a heavier part of creating offense than Brown was yesterday, all a part of Stevens' weave at the top of the circle while Brown sat in corners. It was quite ridiculous given Brown's efficiency at scoring this year.
One thing that worried me about this year was Smart becoming more aggressive on offense, and it looks like it is a significant problem.
He is a better in a lot of ways. His passing is better, and he has slowed down and improved his balance. He takes better shots in the lane. But the judicious shot selection of last year is gone, and despite the improvements, his percentages are heading back down to the dismal levels that make him an offensive liability.
We need him to cut back closer to last year's shooting habits. Walker, Smart and Wanamaker have to increase the focus on ball movement. All of our primary ball handlers, plus Tatum are shooting a lot.
