- Al Horford isn't as much of a lock to resign if Kyrie goes as people around here think.

Horford leaving is a major concern of mine.

Recentering the team around the young guys is a lot scarier if Horford isn't around to provide stability.
no it’s not you seeing him this series? I’m ready to move on. He’s washed up follows up good games with horrible 3 rebound duds.

Horford is not and has never been the problem.

Barring this game Horford hasn't been quite good this series. Averaging roughly 17-8-4 from memory. Overreaction to one bad game to want him gone

I like Horford. He plays out of position so much and has to do so much on both ends. He is the least of my concerns.

If Horford leaves, the Celtics are forced to rebuild.

I thought their most interesting point was a discussion on whether it really once the atmosphere, the intangibles that doomed them or whether it was a simple as Hayward not being good and Jaylen/Jayson regressing. Then the question of whether you can even completely separate the two, do the intangibles make it difficult for the young guys to find their rhythm and thus lead to their step back.

I kind of think that if either/both of the Jays are on the  team next year they will have a big year. It feels like this could be a step back followed by a big step forward provided we solidify the roles, fix the chemistry, consolidate the roster ect.

Not if they trade for AD and keep Kyrie.

At that point, I'd have a hard time seeing Horford leave.

Lets just try to sign and trade for KD!  Warriors should be willing to if they are going to lose KD for nothing.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
The Kyrie stuff is nothing new and for those that hate Kyrie, it's good ammo and for those that like Kyrie, its good justification for some of his desire to now waffle about coming back. Again, nothing new.

But, they mentioned it was concerning that Tatum plateaued this year. Was that concern Jackie's or is that something she heard from people associated with the Celtics?

I also see that more and more of the media are looking at Jaylen as possibly being the more valuable player between he and Jayson.

Jaylen struggled early but regrouped and grew his game for the 3rd straight year showing he can play a role, as well as being a top offensive option(he did this last year when he stepped up after Hayward and Kyrie went down). Jaylen has also shown that he is a playoff warrior. That is hard to find in 21 and 22 year olds.

Meanwhile, Tatum some steps backwards this year, looks about the same or worse than last year, and has shown he may not have quite the ceiling many were saying he had last year. He has been disappointing for a bunch of these playoff games. And, worst of all, his defense fell to the point that Kyrie has looked like the better defender for most of the year, certainly in these playoffs.

I actually just watched Jackie's appearance on The Jump and she flat out says that the team was unhappy with Tatum's mindset coming into this season and "he's been a problem for months". Interesting.

That is 100 percent him working with Kobe Bryant. Kobe absolutely killed Tatum. Couple that with the trade rumors that he would be moved for AD and you have the current state of Tatum.

I think Danny & Co are right --- if they dont' trade for AD at the draft they're not going to get the chance to do so later.

The plan has to be to trade for AD at the draft and then re-sign Kyrie.

If we don't hear much about the Celts trying to trade for AD at the draft, that's our signal that Kyrie has not given them the assurances they need.

Shouldn’t the plan be to trade for AD no matter what? I don’t see how Kyrie’s decision would affect that.

We need Kyrie to sign here or elsewhere before we trade for him plus without Kyrie, AD won’t resign here.

I really feel like a couple of hours with Kobe shouldn't have done this to him. JB worked out with TMac quite a lot and didn't really change how he played
